Videos of New York Police Department officers being doused with water and pelted with objects in separate incidents surfaced on social media on Monday, including one clip that showed officers getting drenched as they were making an arrest.
NYPD officials called the videos reprehensible.
In one video, somebody hurled a bucket that hit an officer in the head while he was making an arrest in Harlem. Groups of jeering bystanders could be heard reacting as people continued to splash the officers with water.
The videos of cops being doused with water and having objects hurled at them as they made an arrest in #Harlem is reprehensible, NYPD Chief Terence Monahan said in a tweet on Monday.

The next time people in that hood call for the police don’t show up,if they want to live like animals let it be so.
This is the “Baltimore” effect finding its way to the NYPD. Despite the standard Leftist drivel, cops are not monsters or Nazis. Cops are no different than any of us except that they have chosen to spend their professional lives helping and protecting others. But, at some point it is no longer worth it to do so. As the hatred of police skyrockets, as political leaders seek to score points with their constituents by branding the cops as racists, and as thugs take over the streets without fear, as they have in Portland, cops seem to have had enough. There is no benefit in exposing themselves to danger by helping those who wish them ill. So, more and more cops simply are doing the minimum and in doing so are ceding the streets to the criminals.
De Blasio claims he is a communist. He is full of neo-marxist sloganeering. his favorite target has been the police, accusing them of racism, etc... Like AOC, he was a dark horse, far left candidate who managed to win a primary with low voter turnout. He has been constantly "anti police" in both his statements, and actions.
Just do a search on Mayor De Blasio police dispute and there will be a lot to read.
I’m surprised DeBlasio is even pretending to be on the cops’ side.
Then decent people will. And that will get messy.
Ever see Gangs of New York? Good movie.
So the do nothing take anything NYPD acting as cowards are pissed that they are exposed as such?
The cowards could have fired a warning shot into the air but no they stick with their liberal/progressive rules of engagement!
Democrats demand you NOT 'notice'...
How many fingers do you see Winston? How many lights Picard?
As a former NYer who worked Harlem, Washingrton Hts and the South Bronx, remembers when NYFD rode on the outside of fire vehicles and why they no longer do, I say...well put.
Have you seen their pensions?
No way theyre giving those up.
The cowards could have fired a warning shot into the air....
You do realize that bullets come down after they go up, right? What do you think would happen to the cop whose bullet came down and planted itself into the head of an 8 year old girl half a mile away?
Idiot.

The police slam the videos.
That’s charming.
Cops allow demselves to be attacked with no repercussions and I’m the idiot? LOL:-)
Cops allow demselves to be attacked with no repercussions and Im the idiot?
And I thought you wouldnt get it.
Silly me.

Disorder da mayor.
Police are alienating the public by excessive police brutality, there is a reason why there is a distrust between the cops and the minority community, even white teens and the cops don’t get along.
Not all cops are bad, but cops need way more better training and oversight.
As for this, deBlasio is a disgrace of a mayor and he is completely crazy.
That says it perfectly; put another way: “If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you will always have the support of Paul”.
NJ is looking at the same fate, as the hosts flee the high costs of their unproductives and the government worker caste. Areas projected to grow a dozen years ago are losing population instead, and the state continues to replace the fleeing Americans and their employers with imported Third Worlders and public assistance.
New cops are there for a check and great benefits; they aren’t signing on to “make a difference” or do a job.
