Former President Bill Clinton’s connection to since-convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was established through British heiress and longtime Epstein pal Ghislaine Maxwell, who also became a friend of former first daughter Chelsea, according to a new report Sunday.
Clinton’s family grew close with Maxwell after Clinton left office in early 2001, Politico reported.
“The Clintons were relatively intimate with her,” a friend of Maxwell’s told the Web site. A person familiar with the relationship also described Maxwell as “the contact between Epstein and Clinton.”
“She ended up being close to the family because she and Chelsea ended up becoming close,” the source added.
Maxwell, the daughter of late publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell, vacationed on a yacht with Chelsea in 2009 and attended her wedding to Marc Mezvinsky the following year, Politico said.
Maxwell was also associated with the Clinton Global Initiative as recently as 2013, when it promoted a “commitment to action” by a group that included Maxwell’s environmental nonprofit, the TerrarMar Project, which she shuttered in the wake of Epstein’s arrest earlier this month.
All of those dates followed Epstein’s 2008 sweetheart-deal of a conviction in Florida on two prostitution-related charges, one of which involved a minor. The multimillionaire financier was busted July 6 on child sex-trafficking charges and last week was ordered held without bail pending trial. He has pleaded not guilty.
In 2015, an Epstein accuser, Virginia Giuffre, sued Maxwell for denying her claim that Maxwell recruited her to be sexually abused by Epstein when Giuffre was 15. Maxwell and Guiffre settled that suit for undisclosed terms on the eve of trial last year. ...
Politico didn’t pinpoint the origin of Bill Clinton’s relationship with Epstein, but Fox News has reported that Clinton took at least 26 trips on Epstein’s Boeing 727 between 2001 and 2003.

The quotation they keep citing as proof that Epstein and Trump were close personal friends actually implies the opposite:
Trump paraphrases third parties telling him Epstein loves younger women as much as himself. If he were so close to Epstein, then he would know it firsthand from his so-called BFF, not from other parties.
The fact that Trump said young/younger “women” and not young/younger “girls” is hugely in his favor. He clearly was speaking of actual majority-age females who happened to be relatively junior in years.

Um, given the Clinton's history, can we get a more detailed explanation of this statement?
Bill was part of the marketing of the Epstein brand. It increased the magnetism of the documentation centers Epstein was running in New Mexico, Paris, Palm Beach, the Upper East Side, and, yes, “the Island”.
IOW, having Bill be visibly “friends” with this slightly weird guy was part of the allure for the targets of the people running Epstein’s setups.
26 flights on the “Lolita Express”? Yes, all legs of longer trips to Asia and Africa, or nonstops WPB - Westchester County. None to the Caribbean.
Bill was window dressing for Epstein, and he got a bunch of free rides. That’s it.

I'm saying two things:
1) Whether he did or didn't is not the central, important part of the Epstein-Maxwell story. There is zero credible public record evidence of many of the claims made about Bill Clinton, the island, and young girls. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not - does not matter in 2019.
2) The Clintons are no longer important public figures, not to Democrats, and our attention regarding this incredible story should be directed at what it was/is really all about - which is not Bill Clinton.
So in addition to being a mysterious billionaire, he’s also an international pimp with brothels without borders for the rich and infamous. Fantasy Island made real and x-rated. I hope Donald drains this swamp yesterday, and catches a few more big-time Dems or Dem donors.

If he was just a rich guy with slightly unusual tastes, the island would be more than enough. It's the multiple sites (Avenue Foch just revealed last week, how many more are there?) that turns this from a kink into enterprise-level whoremastery.
And is it simple blackmail for self-enrichment? That would be quite clever, but too much for one guy to handle - plus, as has been pointed out, if he was f***ing over enough billionaires to fund this multi-decade, multinational enterprise, someone would have killed him or had him killed years ago.

No way you can become a billionaire or live to see 70 if you’re blackmailing. He made his money somehow, insider trading, futures, diamond mines in South Africa, arms merchant maybe. Whatever. And then when he was rich enough, he started finding friends and offering them access to his island as a token of their elite status, with Ghislaine as the madame and Bill as the...mascot or whatever the hell he was. Tattoo to his Rourke? His new friends give him hot tips on stocks and futures trades, and he exploits them and gets richer.
