Washington (CNN)House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler on Sunday said Robert Mueller's report presents "very substantial evidence" that President Donald Trump is "guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors" -- an impeachable offense.
"We have to ... let Mueller present those facts to the American people, and then see where we go from there, because the administration must be held accountable," Nadler, whose committee would lead impeachment proceedings, said on "Fox News Sunday."
Mueller, the former special counsel for the Department of Justice and former director of the FBI, will testify before Congress on July 24 after House Democrats issued a subpoena for his appearance.
Earlier this year, Mueller concluded a nearly two-year-long investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Democrats are deeply divided on whether to pursue an impeachment inquiry, and Mueller's public testimony may provide an opportunity for the party to unify and decide whether impeachment proceedings should go forward or not. More than 80 House Democrats have called for starting an impeachment inquiry into the President -- the first step in a lengthy process, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Nadler have so far resisted the pressure to open an inquiry. Behind the scenes, Nadler has lobbied Pelosi to open an inquiry.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said Sunday most Americans haven't read the dense 448-page Mueller report. Schiff said on CBS "Face The Nation" that the report contains "a pretty damning set of facts," and said, "Who better to bring them to life than the man who did the investigation himself." "We want the people to hear it directly from him," Schiff said.
Mueller said in a rare and remarkable public statement in May his investigation could not clear Trump of obstruction of justice..."

Yes, beating a democrat is apparently a “high crime”.
More salivating by Nadler and the Democrats as they dream of impeaching the president in time to put a stain on his administration and character as the 2020 election season unfolds.
Of course, Mueller will also be questioned by Republican committee members which may not go so well for him so Nadler and his gang should not get too confident yet.
Then impeach him, you waddling toad, or shut your pie hole.
Do you know anyone who is “of reasonably normal IQ” & who believes anything that Nadler claims??
Personally, I do NOT, as he’s a bad joke here.
Yours, TMN78247
Jerry Nadler is all the proof I need that shape shifting lizard demons exist.
I’ve had this premonition that someone big on the political Left is going to buy the farm soon.
As unhealthy as Nadler looks, could it be him?
I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes when facing the Lord’s judgment for his evil, communist life.
There may be “evidence” but what are the “high crimes and misdemeanors”?
Neither term seems to be too well defined.
Air-tight alibi, all the evidence was circumstantial, there are no living witnesses, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Nadler is one of the serial liars of the communist persuasion
and no matter how often he shoots his lying moth off, he has yet to produce a single shred of credible evidence that PDJT has done anything illegal whatsoever, not even jaywalking!
Goebbels would be proud of Nadler!
Unmitigated Bullshit from the mentally impaired, low IQ blubber gut.
Trump is guilty of “guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors”?
I don’t recall him doing anything like Barry did.
and, by the Sessions standard, he has to recuse himself from any consideration of the question.
Well, you know that ain’t going to happen.
. . . and how many times has Trump been overruled by SCOTUS? Barry thought it was a joke.
Nadler is a fool.
He can say anything he wants to on the floor. There he has immunity.
But on TV or talking to the press, he is subject to the same libel laws as you and I.
Trump will be careful while e is in office for the reason that he would like to have some of the more sensible dims helping him on legislation.
But after he leaves office he will be free to be aggressive with Nadler and the other nut cases.
It will be more than interesting.
They might need to build a courthouse just for his cases.
lol!
so why didn’t you impeach him the other day
The longer we get no justice from the Justice Department, the more likely it is we lose the nation.
