“I tried to join the Marines when I was 30 and they said I was too old.”

My wife’s uncle was drafted in WW2 at age 35. Spent the duration in the China-Burma-India theater in combat engineers maintaining the Burma road. Never too old when chips are down.

Well, they said I was too old at 30, which I thought was dumb. At that time they said the cut-off age was 27.
