Like telling foreigners they don’t belong in the United States
It’s not enough for some academics to say that women who choose biology over subjective mental states are “transphobic.”
One of them says these women, known by the slur “trans-exclusionary radical feminists,” are in the same league as the Ku Klux Klan.
The subject is dissident feminists in academia, such as the University of California-Santa Barbara’s Laura Tanner, who argue that treating men as women based on their gender identity is misogynistic at its core and invalidates women.
A professor of gender and women’s studies at the University of Arizona, Susan Stryker, tells Inside Higher Ed that female identity is like immigration:
If womanhood is a “a restricted country,” Stryker said, citing the writer Joan Nestle, “Who says what those restrictions shall be? Who is womanhood for? How does one become its citizen?”
It’s “legitimate to ask all such questions,” Stryker continued. “There should be no bounds on academic inquiry.” Yet “what I see in the TERF wars is not disinterested academic inquiry,” she added. “It’s more akin to white supremacists wanting to propagandize other whites about foreigners, where the position of foreigners in the conversation has been deemed illegitimate in advance.”

Normal Everyday People: Gender studies professors who believe men can become women are IDIOTS!
I know just how “out there” some things seem to be on occasion. The question would be “By what criteria do we navigate our way through this world?”
To imagine that the narratives we hear, particularly from government entities, manifest straightforward truths is foolhardy. If we allow folks like the Clintons and Obamas to determine our world-view—though those appear extremely popular in the moment, we could get very incorrect perspectives on things. For example, we might as a result believe PDJT colluded with Russians to successfully steal a election that was rightfully win by HRC—and want PDJT’s hide for it.
Many correct views of our world fly against the grain of the official narratives. They’re very unpopular. When voiced in public, some defenders of the official narratives quickly resort to emotionally-laden, extreme statements, as if they find it greatly dismaying that they unknowingly might otherwise have considered it safe to leave their house with people with vastly different views of historical events “out there.” Oh, the inhumanity! Humorous, maybe, but ultimately very counter productive.
The movie Matrix captured the essence of the question of whether the hero wished to blithely live out his existence under the standard delusions of life or whether he wished to live knowing the sometimes-awful truths, where circumstances would likely often be difficult. The hero chooses “”the red pill,” truth, and he reaps the whirlwind where he’d previously lived a drab, green, humdrum life.
We should all choose living life’s that bask in the truth, should we not?
Instead of emotionally-laden invectives driven by falsehoods—such as who every official information outlet would have us believe Barry Soetoro is—is no way to live out life. That path would have blithely financed Iran’s nuclear ambitions to wipe out Israel and put the Muslim Brotherhood in charge of the Islamic world (while thoroughly infiltrating the US government).
We must deal with facts and the best evidence available. When such characters as the Clintons tell us PDJT stole an election, we learned we’d better check it out with honest, unbiased investigators. That didn’t really happen, so we’re 2-1/2 years further “down the road.” than we should be with the correct result in hand.
Let’s always leave out the ridicule and emotionalism for viewpoints from which we differ. Let’s be honest seekers of the truth. Let’s strive for wisdom, happy to be corrected, if what becomes known is previously unappreciated evidence, facts and truth.
I did not photoshop that image. It’s imagined existence did not spring out of my head or desire. I would only add the there are such people out there ready to jump at such opportunities, apparently because they believe such to be the case. They do then label such things thusly.
