I live in SW Florida and have never see a straw on the beach...
Plastice bottle and cans yes..a few..
People down here pick up after the democrats throw there trash on the beach
95% of the trash in the oceans comes from 3rd world $hitholes and their population of 70 IQ morons.
Are they going to ban plastic tampon applicators next? If I lived in California I’d get one to use as a straw. Unused one of course.

There are rivers of straws in the ocean coming from China.
Nobody in the US takes their straws down to the beach and pitches it into the ocean. Its stupid.
Because in 2011 a nine year old boy did some "calculations" and came up with the "conclusion" that we use 500,000,000 straws daily.....and it got publicized.
Now if we could get a seven year old to calculate the number of plastic plates and a six year old to calculate the amount of plastic wrappers we use daily, we could ban them also. It just depends on the publicity their "findings" receive
And yet those who ban straws freely hand out plastic hypodermics to their “homeless”, who dump them in the street after use.

In California, this is often seen in cities drowning in debt due to their spending. So they pass bills/make statements like a Nuclear Free Zone, No paper straws, we are a Sanctuary City and other worthless bs instead of addressing the problem.
The latest is banning plastic forks and spoons and telling people to use their fingers instead.
More telling, they don’t seem to want to ban throw away plastic sippy cup lids ... why?
Well, if I were cynical I’d say it’s because the Hipster crowd stereotypically drinks coffee or hot tea and Deplorables stereotypically drink sodas.

Not exactly 100% true as it seems much of what they’ve dumped was first shipped to them for proper disposal by environmentally hip 1st worlders.

Don’t judge whole countries by those who are the poorest educated and who’ve often received the poorest nutrition. The people who got good food growing up and who got educations were obviously smart enough to take our Leftwing elites (notably) for a ride.
Speaking of plastic, Pampers is making a smart diaper to let you know how many times your kid pees. It won’t track their bowel movements though. It comes with an app so no doubt they’ll be able to track their urinating habits too. One more thing to blame for climate change...kids peeing too much.
Any liberal individual or entity that uses fossil fuels in any shape or form has no credibility. If the situation is so dire that straws are killing us then drastic measures are required in every facet of life.
And they NEVER rail again Hollywood or professional sports, neither of which produces anything behind entertainment. Think large stadiums. Movie theaters. Movie productions. On and on

I lived by a beach for the last 50 years and can”t remember seeing a straw.Tampon applicators are another matter

Yes...they leave their simple life with its small carbon footprint and enter America by the hundreds of thousands. They come for a better life which means they become consumers. I see them lined up outside of Marshalls and TJ Maxx before those stores even open. The parking lot of Walmart is full nearly 24/7. And it's all these immigrants here to buy buy buy, consume consume consume! They especially love straws!
