CHARLOTTE, N.C. The controversial send her back crowd chant at President Donald Trumps North Carolina rally may have gotten all the headlines, but some Christians are grumbling over something most of the media completely ignored. ... Other critics of the presidents language have been less polite than Hardesty. A commenter on FreeRepublic.com accused the president of blaspheming and mocking God and warned of sure retribution.

We elected Trump for who he is, he has not changed and the demorats are raging because he is
doing what needs to be done.
Send the President a letter.
Stop allowing evil to divide us by feeding the wicked media.
We are all sinners.
The Commandment You will not use the Lord your Gods name in vain. is a directive to not abuse His authority!
You have stated it well. I first heard this interpretation on a podcast where Michael Heiser of Logos Bible Software was interviewing a seminary graduate student who had just finished their doctoral paper on this subject.
A few months later, Dennis Prager, who is a Jew who is fluent in Hebrew, gave a similar explanation during his program.
The explanation, which is based on the exegesis of the Hebrew, says that "taking the name" refers to "representing" or "imaging". Thus, later in Deuteronomy, a description is given about the ephod which was to be worn by the high priest when he went about the temple. The ephod contained twelve precious stones which represented the twelve tribes of Israel. The Hebrew text at that point says that the priest was "taking the names" of the twelve tribes into the presence of God. Thus, the priest was representing the twelve tribes in God's presence in the temple.
The application for us is that those who teach in God's name or make pronouncements about the wishes and inclinations of God must be very careful to represent Him faithfully.
Modern day application of taking the name of the Lord in vain: Woe to those who preach from the pulpit that God is fine with abortion!
Very well said, D1!
Some posters on FR whether due to stupidity or never Trump syndrome seldom miss a chance to denigrate President Trump, I think in most cases it’s the latter.
If we wanted Mr. Rodgers we would have elected mittens Romney
Scratch that Mr Rodgers was a certified bad ass.
Mittens was a beta male cuck who would have cucked to the left so hard we would have had the “first Chad/Tyrone.”

Somehow, he survived the purge of Never-Trumpers from FR in 2016.
Please tone down the cursing in public Mr President.
Thanks.
No, if anything it’s both. They have to be stupid to trash Trump.
Who do they plan on putting in to replace him?
Romney? Graham? Cruz?
LMAO, three of the biggest losers in Republican history...
Did Hardesty get his panties in a wad when Talib called President Trump a “MOTHERF**KER”?
Just curious.
The key is to understand that "take the name of the Lord" is better interpreted as "carry the name of the Lord", as in "represent" Him.
In a later post (in the #60's) I give a little of the context of Deuteronomy and explain that the closest use of the same Hebrew word is during the description of the ephod worn by the priests which is designed with 12 stones representing the 12 tribes of Israel. The text says that the ephod was designed so that the priest could "carry" [same word] the twelve tribes of Israel into the presence of God in the temple.
I can come up with a list of 99 things that bug me but Trump’s language ain’t one of them......Sheesh!
Definitely not role model talk for young people. I for one was disappointed to hear it. You really can't couple "God Bless America" and in the next beath take His Name in vain.
No - but if the Freeper in question (or you) get all apocalyptic about the President using inappropriate language, it suggests a certain delicacy disconnected with the reality known by those of us « rough men » who make it possible for the more gentle to sleep well at night.
You make a valid point.
They have to be stupid both to trash Trump and be a Never-Trumper.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
I watched the rally and that WAS the ONE point I could criticize.
Ten Commandment number TWO:
Thou shall NOT take the name of the lord in vain.
Just saying.
Please refrain from that as you will need EVERY Christian MR. President.
What did he say? I still cant figure it out.
Yes, and that’s part of the reason why I continue to tweak a certain group of losers.
My Mom was watching and she made the comment to me that she was put off by it and thought it was awful. She still supports him, but thought that was not necessary. There will be some quite fallout over this in the churches. I would suggest he avoid doing this again. It doesn’t help him any, but hurts him in the eyes of some of his supporters.
