If Trump Jr. Is 'Racist' for Questioning Kamala Harris' Ethnicity, So Is Don Lemon

Poor Donald Trump Jr. He retweeted a post by a black man named Ali Alexander questioning whether Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., whose father is from Jamaica and mother is from India, is an "American black."

Alexander's tweet reads: "Kamala Harris is *not* an American Black. She is half Indian and half Jamaican. I'm so sick of people robbing American Blacks (like myself) of our history. It's disgusting. ... These are my people not her people."

Predictably, the reaction was furious. It caused Trump Jr. to quickly delete the retweet -- but not, of course, before he was slammed as "racist." A Harris campaign spokeswoman said: "This is the same type of racist attacks his father used to attack Barack Obama. It didn't work then and it won't work now." Meghan McCain, the Republican panelist on ABC's "The View," tweeted: "What's happening to Kamala Harris is disgusting and unquestionably racist. And while the tweet was deleted, it appears that the Trump family tradition of spreading racial demagoguery and conspiracy theories lives on." A HuffPost headline read: "Chilling New Birtherism Slam Suddenly Surges Against Kamala Harris on Social Media." The article identifies Ali as "far-right political operative and conspiracy theorist Ali Akbar, or Ali Abdul Razaq Akbar, whom Politico profiled last year as an 'increasingly prominent pro-Trump supporter.'"

Sound the alarm! "Unquestionably racist"? "Chilling new birtherism"? But wait.

In January, Trump-hating hyper-left MSNBC host Chris Matthews had the following exchange with black Democratic pundit Jamal Simmons:

Matthews: "Is she (Harris) seen as African American?"

Simmons: "Yes, I think she's seen as African American. The fact that she was at Howard University (Harris' alma mater) today ... She's really planting her feet in the African American community."

If Simmons bases Harris' status as an "African American" on having attended Howard University, a historically black college, and "planting her feet in the African American community," what about Rachel Dolezal? Dolezal, a white woman who claimed to be black and even served as a NAACP chapter president, also attended Howard University. Dolezal essentially argued that "blackness" is a state of mind, that if one identifies as black, then he or she is black. Based on Simmons' logic, Dolezal is owed an apology. After all, writer Toni Morrison said President Bill Clinton, "white skin notwithstanding," was America's "first black president." Clinton, born poor in Arkansas, was a "saxophone-playing, McDonald's-and-junk-food-loving boy."

Consider this February exchange between black CNN host Don Lemon and black female reporter April Ryan. Lemon said, "There's a difference between being African American and being black." Ryan replied that, yes, Harris is a "black woman."

Lemon: "I agree with that, but is she African American? There is a difference, and there's nothing wrong with that. No one's trying to take anything away from her. I think you're falling into the trap of that. All she had to do was say, 'I am black, but I'm not African American.' ... Jamaica's not America. Jamaica did not come out of Jim Crow."

But if, according to Lemon, Harris's status as "black" rests on her Jamaican father, what about tennis 2018 U.S. Open winner Naomi Osaka? Born in Japan but raised in America since age 3, Osaka's mother is Japanese and her father Haitian. Media outlets generally refer to her as "the first Japanese player" to win a Grand Slam tournament. ESPN called her "the first tennis player from Japan to reach No. 1 in the rankings." Based on Lemon's anthropological analysis of Harris, Osaka, then, is "black," too. But while news outlets have sometimes described her as "biracial" or even "mixed-race," she is not called "black." Thoughts, Mr. Lemon?

Confused? Now consider this exchange from an interview during Harris' 2008 Senate race:

Interviewer: "And certainly you could become the first Indian senator in U.S. history."

Harris: "Knock wood."

President Obama, in a 2016 commencement address at Howard University, said: "One of the great changes that's occurred in our country since I was your age is the realization that there's no one way to be black. Take it from somebody who's seen both sides of debate about whether I'm black enough. ... There's no straitjacket. There's no constraints. There's no litmus test for authenticity."

So, Trump Jr., if you remain perplexed, join the club.

Thanks to progressives, anyone using the words “racist” or “phobic” - or variations thereof, is not to be considered to have any kind of a rational argument.

Ignore them because they have the intellect of a slime mold.

She, like Obama, is descended from slave masters. Obama was far worse, since his mother descended from U.S. slave owners, and his father descended from slave traders (African Muslims).

Harris is not even half black. She is half Indian. But she is more white Jamaican than black Jamaican. She is a slave owner’s off-spring on both sides, Indian and Jamaican. She was never poor. Her parents were never poor.

In my opinion, it’s less racist to observe that a person’s upbringing and culture are relevant than to believe that a person’s genetic ancestry is the most important thing about him.

Years ago, I saw the move "Gandhi". There is an early scene where young Gandhi is working in South Africa and is thrown out of train because that compartment is for Whites only under the Apartheid system. Gandhi protests that he is from India and is not Black. The conductor doesn't care: "You're Colored".

Nowadays, that word is almost as bad as the N-word. But if the Left really wanted to build solidarity, they would discuss Indians, Jamaicans, Hispanics, African Americans, and Blacks and just say "We're all in this together as Colored peoples of the world".

But they can't do that. They Balkanize themselves because they are racists and they need -- absolutely need -- to specify that some people "come out of Jim Crow" and some people don't. And some people are "descended from slaves" and some people aren't. And on and on and on.

Most White people just want people to be people. But the Colored people see all kinds of lines of division, and they revel in that. It's called Identity Politics, and they think it's a good thing. I have no idea why.

If Kamala wins the Dem nomination, Trump should refer to her as "THE FAKE BLACK CANDIDATE!"

This would be devastating for Kamala because Trump's hard-hitting phrases have always been devastating to opponents (e.g. "Crooked Hillary," "Low-energy Jeb Bush" "Lock her up")

Looking at pics of her "black" father from Jamaica is very convincing that he's genetically not more than 50% black. If so, then Kamala is 25% black - or less.

So Trump needs to start calling her "THE FAKE BLACK CANDIDATE" ASAP!

Kamala's parents (Indian Mother, Jamaican Father):

Exactly the same with Obama!

This neurotic Nazi like obsession with peoples racial ancestry is a sign of mental derangement. It is a disturbing sign that as a society we are going off the rails.

To Liberals, anyone with a Tan and a Uterus can use the African American or the new phrase “Woman of Color” Card.

To leftists, one does not need a uterus or XX-Chromosome to be a woman of any color.

That used to be the case. Now the uterus is optional.

In South Africa and related countries, the term coloured means you are not all white. Normally this means part black and some other non-African heritage. Coloured is a class separate from African or Black, and separate from whites. Back in 1984 coloured people, not blacks, could vote for representatives. Gandhi would have been coloured. He had a British education. But he would have been rejected by Africans and whites alike.

In America, people like Harris who are barely African can claim all sorts of ethnic discrimination as though they have been spat on their whole lives. Harris who has a white husband, a mixed race (but very light skinned) father and an Indian mother, gets away with all sorts of stories of personal harm from bigotry. But the reality is, she is like a German woman in Argentina hiding her real Nazi heritage by calling herself Hispanic. Harris is descendant of numerous slave owners.

Her father is still alive. See him here in colour.

http://www.celebfamily.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/parents.jpg

He is descendant to two slave owning families on both sides. So, he is not even half black. And he fights Kamala whenever she tries to call herself black. His mother grew up with servants living on her family property. While not legally slaves after a law change. They did not have full rights either.
