I think the truth of the matter is that there’s a tiny sliver of very active, virulent leftist social media tweeters, commenters, and posters whose voices have been greatly amplified by bots of unknown origin which too have been posting the same vile leftist garbage as actual people, and that the Democrats have mislead themselves into mistakenly believing that these apparent virulent leftist attitudes are somehow representative of their voter base as a whole, and that President Trump has indeed been deliberately provoking these shadowy (but strangely influential), ugly, hateful, and virulently leftist “voices” into ever louder and shriller conniptions, thereby perpetuating and increasing their power and influence over the grossly deluded Democrats ...
It also appears that not a single rational adult is in any way in charge of the Democrat Party nor can figure out their deluded misconceptions nor respond rationally to get the Democrats back on some less insane track ...
Trump has seen all of this and has repeatedly thrown gasoline on those fires on purpose, and interestingly enough, his main weapon has been to use the grotesque hatred of himself by the left and the leftist media against themselves by deliberately making statements that he knows they will attack him with, but which also inherently serve to publicize issues, subjects and people that Trump wants publicized ...
The above is exactly what happened (and was his intent) when he threw out those “America, love it or leave it” tweets that resulted in the Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse being promoted within hours to the new face of the Democrat Party by the media and the Dems themselves ...

Nonetheless, the Democrats are still operating by 20th century election rules and have learned nothing from the Trump-disruption of 2016. In the mean time, Trump himself is moving beyond his disruption of 2016, to implement an even newer disruption for 2020, namely, I believe he’s attempting to make ALL Congressional elections a fight about national issues rather than the traditional “all elections are local” BS.
I believe that Trump is going to force all candidates of both parties to take positions one way or the other on the plethora of insane leftist positions being promulgated by the Dem presidential candidates, the Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse, and others of similar ilk.
If in fact President Trump succeeds in shaping the 2020 election to be “America Last” vs “America First” for ALL Congressional elections, then the GOP should achieve a Congressional victory like that which has never before been seen in U.S. history.
Excellent point. In CT this last election the Rep. Gov candidate were neck and neck and the Dem just barely squeaked by thanks to the major cities. Meanwhile, they “all elections are local” types keep electing the far left Dems in DC my 60+% margins. Make some of these Dems take a stand on “America Last” issues and suddenly it becomes much harder for them to win even in blue states.
That’s very true, except I really think that most Dem politicians actually are America-hating crypto-Marxists. These radical nut-jobs just gave them the boldness to come out and say it and align publicly with these positions. Look how all the Dem candidates have been falling all over each other to proclaim their allegiance to the “Justice Democrat” agenda, ranging from no borders to black reparations to forced government health care to the confiscation of wealth and the control of the very air we breathe through their “Green Agenda.” Oh, and forcing everyone in the country to accept and pledge allegiance to various delusional sexual and moral ideas...well, the list just goes on. The radicals have just emboldened them.
However, I’m not sure, as you point out, that the Dems really have the support they think they do among the public for these extreme positions. The radicals - and not only the four most recently elected ones, but some of the older ones who have been spouting hate-filled nonsense for years but had been politely ignored by the press - have become the undeniable face of Dem leadership. This is partially through press promotion and partially through the fact that the Dems themselves are scared of them and no one dares to oppose them.
The Democrat party has spent years cultivating hatred of the US, hatred of “whites” (whatever those are), hatred of Western culture, hatred of our institutions, hatred of Christianity, hatred of success and hatred of freedom. While some of them may not have felt that way deep down inside, they certainly felt that these positions were a path to power, particularly as they began to think of their “base” solely in terms of ethnic or other identity group allegiance. So they created this monster, and now they can’t control it.
