Green files articles of impeachment against Trump, setting up floor vote

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) filed articles of impeachment against President Trump on Tuesday under a process that will force a House floor vote by the end of this week.

Loading...

Green introduced his articles of impeachment after the House passed a resolution largely along party lines condemning Trump for suggesting that four progressive freshman congresswomen of color - Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) - "go back" to their countries.

Green said that the House should go beyond condemning Trump and move to remove him from office.

It will be the third impeachment floor vote forced by Green in the last two years, but the first since Democrats took control of the House.

Green previously forced procedural votes on articles of impeachment against Trump in December 2017 and January 2018. Both efforts drew the support of about 60 House Democrats.

It’s true....Democrats have turned the House of Representatives into a weapon of political theater. They aren’t interested in legislation.

It will NOT go to the House floor. Too many that voted for their party in swing districts won’t buy this and they can’t take a chance it will fail. The Mueller report fizzled; the border thing is getting old; they’ve simply run out of issues to distract people on so this is next. Plus, its a hopeful plea for Barr to neuter his investigation since the various allegations against him didn’t work.

You can’t take anything the RAT party does as an end game. Its simply one fist full of mud after the other. Even if it got to the Senate, there’s no constitutional requirement that it get voted on. It just says he’s removed IF there’s a conviction.

Dems have boiled themselves in a pot for three years. 2018 was a fluke that ‘Merica is going to correct in 2020.

Justice will be delivered!

Can’t criticize him either. He is “of color”. But I think he is still a guy so it may not matter what color he is.

Green is a nut elected bynuts.

Ask him to find the cube root of 125 or 216. Then run away while he’s occupied. You’ll have plenty of time to get away.

The House CANNOT vote to convict, they can vote to impeach however.

Impeachment is like an indictment whereas the trial to convict (or not) is held in the Senate.

THE GREEN SEX TALE---BEFORE AND AFTER

BEFORE Congressman Slept With And Then Sued Allegedly Drug-Addicted Staffer / BY LUKE ROSIAK
SOURCE http://dailycaller.com/2017/11/27/congressman-slept-with-and-then-sued-allegedly-drug-addicted-staffer/

Texas Democrat Rep. Al Green had sex with a staffer who he said was a drug addict and then sued her when she threatened to go public with claims she suffered a hostile work environment, saying he “will not be extorted or blackmailed.”

Lucinda Daniels, his onetime district director, claimed she suffered a hostile work environment, claimed sexual harassment and demanded $1.8 million. Green sued her, saying she was using their sexual relationship to shake him down at the behest of other unnamed conspirators.

“Daniels has threatened to go public with her complaints if the Congressman does not per her money. Green has done nothing wrong and refuses to pay ‘hush money’ just for political expediency. Green will not be extorted or blackmailed by Daniels. He will not be the victim of a shakedown by Daniels and her agents. Green demands vindication of his actions and now sues Daniels for declaratory judgment relief relating to her workplace allegations and her quest for money,” documents Green filed in federal court in 2008 say. Daniels claimed Greene retaliated against her in the workplace because of her gender and because she refused additional romantic requests.” Green rejected her claims as false.

AFTER--Dem Congressman Al Green Sends Preemptive Press Release Denying Sexual Assault Allegation

Texas Democrat Congressman Al Green sent an out-of-the-blue press release Monday acknowledging the existence of a previous sexual assault allegation against him, but denying it ever happened. Green sent an unprompted joint statement to Washington Post reporter Mike DeBonis signed by himself and Green’s former district director, Lucinda Daniels, denying anything untoward happened between the two.

“In the present climate, we wish to jointly quiet any curious minds about our former and present relationship with one another. We are friends, and have long been friends,” they wrote.

Greene Spox: “The attached statement is in reference to a circumstance that occurred in 2008. This circumstance did not involve the Cong. Office, nor the Office of Employment Counsel & did not involve the use of any taxpayer money.” 3:04 PM - Nov 27, 2017

“At an unfortunate time in our lives, when both of our feelings were hurt, we hastily made allegations and charges against one another that have been absolutely resolved. As consenting friends, we both regret our former claims and have since then maintained a respectful friendship,” the statement continued.

“We are friends,” they added for good measure.

“The attached statement is in reference to a circumstance that occurred in 2008,” a Green spokesman told DeBonis. “This circumstance did not involve the Congressional Office, nor the Office of Employment Counsel and did not involve the use of any taxpayer money.”

In 2008, Daniels publicly accused Green of forcing her to have sex with him. Green retaliated with a lawsuit maintaining the sex was consensual and claiming she threatened to sue him for workplace discrimination unless he paid her.

Eventually, both parties dropped their accusations against each other and issued a joint statement similar to Monday’s. “Congressman Alexander Green and Lucinda Daniels have both resolved and settled their respective disputes without payment, promise or receipt of any money. They regret any circumstances that created th

Yes...and your comment was similar to my post.

I simply described the entire congressional aspect with an emphasis on enough RINOs in Senate to convict.

I guess I missed the part about enough RINOS in the Senate.

Heard mention of 3 that might vote for impeachment but it would take 17. Where would the other 14 come from?

Did you know the first job of a politician is to get reelected? Do you know that Trumps popularity among Republicans is at a level never before seen by a Republican and that includes Ronald Reagan?

Tell me which Republicans have the balls to vote for impeachment of Trump, knowing their ass will be primaried out? Check and see how Amash is doing since he began criticizing Trump and then left the R Party. The moron is running for re election and is being challenged in the primary. He is already down over 20 points to his challenger.

Dunno. During the campaign he had a bad spray tan, and was distinctly orange with pale skin around his eyes, like a negative raccoon.

Leftists had nothing else to work with so the settled for mocking his skin color.
