Parker is the Virginia tv reporter who was shot to death on live tv by a former employee and her father wants to have any postings of the murder, either by the assailant or the tv cameraman that was also murdered available on Google, YouTube or other video posting sites.
As difficult as it is for the families of victims, I’m not in favor of eliminating such posted videos - for two reasons. 1) I think the circulation of incorrect information can be reduced by being able to see the actual footage, just as is true with the Zapruder film that was hidden from public view for 15 years before it was shown on tv. 2) Doctored videos could be circulated or even sold on the underground market which could change the popular recollection.
For the benefit of history, I prefer access to the raw info. Of course, I’ve never had a close family member blown away on tv either.
He wants to have any postings blocked. Somehow, I forgot to include that word.
