Germany's Ursula von der Leyen elected first female European Commission President

Germany's Ursula von der Leyen has been elected as the European Commission's first female president.
Her nomination was approved by 383 votes in a secret ballot on Tuesday evening at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.
There were 327 votes against her and 22 abstentions. After being elected by a narrow margin of just nine votes over the required 374, von der Leyen called for a "united and strong Europe."
The 60-year-old outgoing German defense minister and multilingual mother of seven will succeed Jean-Claude Juncker, who has served as president since 2014.

A Minister of War of Germany? Chances she would run down EU the way she did the German military.

Her first act should be to dissolve the EU and revert back to the European Common Market, in which trade barriers were lowered, and borders and national identity remained intact.

Another Yurp Globalist. She’s a pantsuit Jean Claude Druncker though admittedly she probably won’t be as perpetually hammered and obnoxious as he was. Her stint as defense minister utterly demolished the already demoralized and threadbare Bundeswehr.

Sure, there are occasionally good women leaders. Margaret Thatcher comes to mind, but for the most part? No. Too emotional and empathetic.
