I thought internat’l law (the Hague or the UN) said something like asylum seekers must ask for asylum in the first country they enter not actively persecuting them...

If so - this ‘new’ rule would support that common sense international requirement.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is some international law but IIRC MX did not sign on to it or something. Maybe MX is being more cooperative; they are stemming the flow that comes our southern border now. MX is doing more than the Dems.
Absolutely. Rule by judges is not part of our Constitutional form of governance.
Of course none of the countries will enforce this, they don't want these people either ....Many are uneducated and/or single Mothers with children who are ‘economic illegals’....last I heard 90% are NOT illegible for asylum.....just wanting a better life, as they do say, is not a reason to let them claim asylum.
That’s only because Trump used leverage against mexico.....otherwise it would be business as usual... and it will go back to that eventually for it’s obvious Congress wants open borders..period.
“Judge cannot overrule it. “
You think not huh, well don’t bet the farm. It would not be the first time some hack Judge ignored his jurisdiction against Trump.
IIRC, this rule is already part of international law on asylum seekers, and may well be codified in U.S. Law.
If not in U.S. Law, this “new rule” would simply be reinforcing international law, saying to migrants, “You must comply with International Law as you travel through other countries, or you will not be eligible to request asylum from the United States.”
it’s already U.S. treaty law that “refugees” supposedly fleeing persecution must claim asylum in the first country that accepts such “refugees” rather than crossing a half a dozen countries get to their preferred destination, which indicates that they’re not really
fleeing persecution at all, but simply want tons of free everything from Uncle Sugar ...
naturally the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia and their Democrat Party affiliate will explode with horror, outrage, and indignation because of their cherished “America Last” policies, but hey, that’s EXACTLY what President Trump wants anyway, namely, to provoke the leftists to promote their “America Last” policies at every every juncture, because President Trump knows that the great bulk of voters in the U.S. are opposed to open borders ...
It time to start ignore federal judges nationwide injunctions***
Yes
Separte but equal entities
Judges have NO legal right to prevent the prez from doing rulings such as these
Trump should just ignore these un Constitutional rulings and say why.
Mitch and Lindsey are doing a great job which could hardly be bettered. No need to hector them.
did not Baraq H. Obama use this very rule to deport Iraqi Christians and Yazidis, sending them back into the welcome arms of ISIS?
It looks like most of our immigration laws haven’t been enforced for decades!....sounds like Trump intends to do so.
Let the left squawk! It reveals over and over again they could care less about any of our laws....Constitutional and otherwise.
Mexico and the Central American countries will just tell them, “Denied. Now you can apply to the U.S. Go!”
Which gives the asylum process the ability to point to that and ask if they really need asylum. If the other countries denied it, then chances are you don't need it. Bye!
