WASHINGTON With a disgust commensurate with the fact, Michael Bennet, the Colorado Democrat, says that during 40% of his 10 Senate years the government has been run on continuing resolutions. Congress passes these in order to spare itself the torture of performing its primary function, which is to set national priorities. Bennet is too serious a person to be content in todays Senate, and if Democrats are as serious as they say they are about defeating Donald Trump, Bennet should be their nominee.

What’s George Will hiding that he’s so desperate to get a Democrat elected?
I first saw Will for what he was during the brouhaha over Vince Foster’s death. He never wrote anything about it and was asked at a social gathering why not. Will said he didn’t go in for that sort of thing.
George, you MAROON! Michael Bennet was born in INDIA not Indiana!
NOT ELIGIBLE to the office.
Born in the country. The “country” they meant was The United States of America, NOT India! or Canada, or Kenya.
Maybe Ronald Reagan could wrest some voters out of the Trump camp, but nobody alive today can do it. Trump once again neutralizes one of the Democrats favorite tactics. The more candidates the merrier.
George Will is such a putz.
Who hates him more, the Donks or us?
If he thinks he can curry enough favor with the Left to keep himself away from the metaphorical (or actual) bullet pocked wall, he is deluding himself.
Born overseas while your parents are in the US Foreign Service counts as Native Born
George Will. I didnt know that he was still alive.
All the talk about Obama, Bennet, Cruz, Harris, etc not being eligible is all a waste of time. If the candidate was born in US or born overseas to at least one US citizen parent, the candidate is eligible. Why? Because the eligibility of a Presidential candidate has never been argued before SCOTUS. Therefore, no precedent. SCOTUS will therefore use any tenuous thread to rule in favor of candidate and avoid disrupting a political party.
Go back to baseball Georgy boy.
Thanks for reminding us what an asshole you are Georgia now go away.
Democrats may elect usurpers, but too many Republican voters still believe in the Constitution for the GOP to do it.
You may be able to nominate an ineligible GOP candidate, but you won’t elect one.
His views make him ineligible for the post, not his birth
I haven’t seen George’s name for a while.
I did not realize that he was auditioning for a most desirable job with the:
Post Independence in Glenwood Springs and Garfield County, CO.
WOW, he finally hit the peak in his career. Expect numerous Pulitzers.
Probably the most conservative article the PI has published in decades. I live in a beautiful place surrounded by the stupidest people you’d ever meet.
As so many of us. I know how you feel.
At least we have a great President.
please, please please nominate Michael Bennett. He’s nothing more than an empty suit.
One would think that, after all their attempts to portray themselves and their “best candidates” as a lot more conservative than they are, in order to garner votes to get elected, they might hit upon the idea that the People, even the average leftist loony, want more conservative folks instead of the radical mouth-foamers they have to work with....
Now that conservatives have stopped reading Will, what makes him think that leftists will pay any attention to him?
