From memory - it’s three or more dead, usually in a public place, the victims typically do not know the shooter, and the shooter is not engaged in any other crime.
If my memory is correct, domestic violence shootings, gang related shootings, and shootings that involve another crime like robbery, are not classified as mass shootings.
Also, the number of dead people - three minimum - determines a mass shooting, not the number of wounded.

Thats stupid. Just because they didnt die doesnt mean they werent shot. If you take out the dead requirement we have a couple of mass shootings a week here in ChiTown.
