What if our most lamentable actions, and our most glaring hypocrisies, were reflected back to us in a way impossible to un-see? Would we grow by that? Would we learn the error of our ways? Or is it possible to be so convinced of one's own virtue that his most loathsome trespasses become evidence of surpassing goodness in his mind and in his tribe?
This is the plight of the modern American progressive in maximum "RESIST" mode. (Mirror, mirror, on the wall who's the most intolerant of all?)
Ever since the abject defeat of the anointed one in November of 2016, the Left has metamorphosed monstrously into its worst self like a werewolf in an old B movie. It has been a terrible thing to watch. The veneer of humanity and civility has been ripped away to expose the ugly, feral truth beneath. From urban and urbane to a bane of America, the transformation is now complete. Progressives' snarling contempt for the president, his supporters, and this American moment is no longer just howling at the moon. It's a hunger that can't be sated an unquenchable thirst.
Every day brings new stories of scorched-earth hatred leveled against President Trump, his family, his Cabinet, his supporters, and the outnumbered but unbowed members of the media who are favorable toward him. The scalding anger, invective, and escalating violence from the Left appear to be building up to something something, as Pete Townshend offered in "Give Blood" that can only be redeemed with fire.
Too melodramatic? I hope so.

The Left (and the establishment Right) are bound and determined to make a failure of the Trump presidency so that the people will be "taught a lesson" and never elect an outsider as president again.
Additionally, open supporters of the President are being shouted down and shamed. This is perhaps the most despicable aspect of this "resistance" and good people should not stand for it.
What the Trump presidency has shown me is just how deeply the "elite" (or "Deep State") have been able to penetrate all levels of our government.
"Draining the Swamp" was a great campaign slogan for Trump but i reality, it is going to take more than one good man (and more than eight years) to fully drain.
President Trump is doing a great job but if he is replaced (even six years from now) with another standard establishment politician, we will very quickly go right back to the way things were before.
We need the movement to continue well past the Trump era. The movement needs to be bigger than Trump in order to succeed in the long term.
The article gives several good “what if” examples of changing the positions of Dems and Republicans. What if Republicans treated Dems in the same way that Dems are currently treating Republicans. If it happened, the Demedia would be outraged.
If President Donald J. Trump keeps up with the winning, hell be the toughest presidential act to follow since George Washington. Like General Washington, PDJT didnt come up through party ranks and didnt owe anything to anyone when he took the oath of office. Being without political baggage and with incredible wealth before assuming office freaks out the Swamp PDJT promised to drain. Who today could possibly step up and replace him in a few years? Im not saying such a man or woman doesnt exist. Maybe one or more are out there. If there is, and considering the rabid media, perhaps its best we dont know who it is six years out from 2024.
Of one thing I am sure: the Trump Base and therefore the nation will not accept a John McCain, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, or Mitt Romney establishment sort of candidate. We are over it. After decades of Lucy Republicans pulling the football, no bet-hedging professional politician will have a chance.
We Wont be Fooled Again.
