Mueller hearing delayed and lengthened so more members can question him

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s testimony before Congress could be delayed until July 24, a week later than originally scheduled, to accommodate questioning from more members, multiple media outlets reported Friday.

Mueller and House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler have been negotiating the framework of the hearing for weeks and announced yesterday that the special counsel’s testimony, initially scheduled for next Wednesday, July 17, would last no more than two hours.

The hearing set for July 24 has been lengthened to three hours.

Too risky for Dems. They’ll likely cancel it. They just need more time to conjure up an excuse to feed to their rabid base.

I hope Repubs manage to get the IG report in advance. It would be sweet if they were able to give Mueller a taste of a few perjury traps.

The left wanted another grandstanding circus where they could pontificate about all of Trumps transgressions and in this case try to validate it by leading Mueller into the fray, but they realized that in this case that the risks are potentially greater than the reward, because the whole can-of-worms about counter intelligence investigations against political candidates has not yet fully opened yet.

Every development, more or less, brings another headline.

It does but in the grand scheme it will help those going after these crooks.

I said it yesterday and I will say it again. That hearing will NOT take place before the August recess and most probably will NEVER occur.

Will Trump be in the USA on July 24?

“What is your name?”
“What is your quest?”
“Why is Trump evil and working with Russia?”

Congressional hearing witnesses negotiate questions, answers, follow-ups and time limits. A lot of times scripts are leaked ahead of time. They’re really just TV shows, but sometimes off-script exchanges slip by and there are unintended revelations.

Will some Republicans have the opportunity for questioning?

With Nadler in control, I’m not certain of this.

Here’s what will happen. Mueller will say nothing new. Both sides will be upset. The left will insist that “nothing new” is something that needs to be investigated in depth.

Nah.

Mueller will give the Democrats a few one-liners that Big Media will turn into anti Trump headlines.

Mueller will otherwise clam up and not answer the Republicans' important questions.

That is Mueller's track record and there is no reason to think he will change his behavior.

I’m with you...

I’ve said from the beginning...IT WILL NOT HAPPEN...

Mueller will not subject himself to Republicans questions...and he will go into hiding, like democrats do when the water gets too HOT or to HIGH...

Mueller should back out now and blame the democrats for changing the rules after getting him to agree.
