President Trump announced Thursday he would sign an executive order to obtain data about the U.S. citizenship and non-citizenship status of everyone living in the United States.

In a Rose Garden ceremony, Trump said he would drop efforts to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census. Instead, he'll sign an executive order directing all U.S. agencies to provide the Department of Commerce all information they have on the U.S. citizenship, non-citizenship and immigration status.

"We have great knowledge in many of our agencies," Trump said, flanked by Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. "We will leave no stone unturned."

I believe the census is based on where you were living on a certain date. Tourists and travelers would be counted at their home. I suspect that college students would be counted where they were actually living on a certain date. They’ve been taking a census for a long time now, your scenarios have likely been dealt with. I’m pretty sure inmates in prisons are counted for where they actually are—prison—rather than where they came from.

CA and other states have millions (not thousands) of illegals. That allows them to have several MORE house seats than MI,OH and others that count honestly. All residents count. That is patently unfair.

What goes into the databases may involve Silicon Valley con artist alterations. How many non-leftist types have you ever met from that type of tech group?

The apportionment calculation is based upon the total resident population (citizens and noncitizens) of the 50 states.

Unfortunately, for some reason, ILLEGAL aliens are being counted as residents of this country, in some cases, multiple times as living at multiple residences, because the garbage in Congress is not allowing these CRIMINALS to be deported from our Country!

The census is administered by the Department of Commerce. Is that correct? Didn’t zer0 move the census to the Executive?
Did Trump move it back to Commerce?

If AL is suing Commerce and if Commerce becomes the repository of the database information on illegals vs citizens, then can this court case be resolved with Commerce applying the database numbers to the Census?

IOW: Is everything determined by the headcount given to Commerce, regardless of whatever other data Commerce has?

Obviously, I find this all confusing. It looks like Trump is attempting to force Commerce to acknowledge the database numbers. Surely, those numbers will actually be more accurate than the head count via a form that many people ignore or on which they lie.

Since the Constitution says “count all residents”, will the progs now love the Constitution?

The IRS already does notify. My information was stolen years ago. The Atlanta IRS office notified me of the problem.

So does SSA. We were informed 2 years ago that my husband’s SS# was used to try and obtain employment. Person was apprehended and none of our accounts were affected.

They don't kick anyone out of office, ALL House Reps are elected every 2 years.

Say a state loses a seat and goes from 7 to 6 seats. The legislature will redistrict the state into 6 Congressional districts. The previous 7 Representatives, if they want to stay in Congress, need to decide what districts they want to run in (Representatives need to live in the state they represent but NOT necessarily the district).
