President Trump will announce that he will use executive action to add a citizenship question on the 2020 census at a news conference Thursday afternoon, a White House source confirmed to The Post.
The president tweeted that he would address the controversial question in a tweet Thursday morning days after he signaled he was considering using an executive order to include it.
“The White House will be hosting a very big and very important Social Media Summit today. Would I have become President without Social Media??,” Trump said on Twitter. “Yes (probably)! At its conclusion, we will all go to the beautiful Rose Garden for a News Conference on the Census and Citizenship.?”
?Trump brought up the idea that he would include the question using an executive order after the Supreme Court blocked it from next year’s count. ? ??”We’ll see what happens,” ?the president said at the White House last Friday. “We could also add an addition on. So we could start the printing now and maybe do an addendum after we get a positive decision. So we’re working on a lot of things, including an executive order.

Good call.
Last census I only answered how many people lived at my address, and refused to answer any others.
The .gov worker paid me 4 separate visits, once trying to get my kids to answer, but they refused, as I’d prepared them.
I finally got a threatening call from the boob responsible for running the census in my area, and I told him to go pound sand.
They didn’t come back.
I’m wondering if GWB made the citzenship question dissapear when he changed the census from a long form to a short form. Let us not forget he called American citizens trying to protect our border Vigilantes.
And some Dem will file a suit after shopping for an Obama appointed Lib judge who will issue an injunction to block it....SSDD.
One census worker showed up trying to get info out of me by asking ‘small talk’ type questions. I told her she was trying to trick me. She got flustered and left. LOL
If Obama and his administration did not need SCOTUS approval to remove the citizenship question from the census form (which was on the form since the 1800’s), then Trump and his administration does NOT need SCOTUS approval to place it back on the census form - PERIOD!
Any thinking to the contrary is simply political charades! Even SCOTUS or any court taking this case was nothing but political charades!!
It sounds like states get to count illegals when calculating how many congressmen they get. That makes no sense at all.

No. You must get with the program. When a Federal judge takes away a Constitutional right, he will rule it unconstitutional to try to exercise it again.

Agree, they are usurping the powers of the chief executive and interfering with his ability to do the job the American people elected him to do. This judicial obstruction is purely partisan, as is all the legislating from the bench which is done by unelected politicians in black robes.

Their so-called “decisions” are not legal in any way; they are just politically tainted opinions. These politicians in black robes see themselves as masters of the universe.
Somebody to stand up to this abuse of power. And we need to support that person’s effort to restore proper balance between the branches of government.
The only reason any leader would oppose this would be to try and instigate a system whereby citizenship would no longer matter. Then, as time passes, we would all just become residents and liable to being kicked out of our country on the whim of politicians. I see leaving this question off our census as being a very dangerous thing for legal citizens and I will be extremely upset if it is left off. If our leftist leaders cannot get their socialist dreams fulfilled at the ballot box, they have plenty of back door things to try to bring about the globalist community they so long for. Americans had better get smart and quickly!

Since it was there before, did he get permission from SCOTUS at the time to take it out?
