Florida Dem Who Gave Epstein a Pass is Providing "Training" on Prosecuting Sexual Violence Crimes

The media is very eager to talk about Acosta. It seems much less interested in bringing up the name of the guy who gave Jeffrey Epstein a pass.

Barry Krischer.

There were really just two people willing to risk their careers to go after Epstein: Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter and Detective Joseph Recarey.

In their first on-the-record media interviews about the case, Reiter and Recarey revealed new details about the investigation, and how they were, in their view, pressured by then-Palm Beach State Attorney Barry Krischer to downgrade the case to a misdemeanor or drop it altogether.

Krischer and the lead state prosecutor on the case, Assistant State Attorney Lanna Belohlavek, began to dodge Recarey and Reiter’s phone calls and emails, and they dragged their feet on approving subpoenas, Reiter and Recarey said.

“Early on, it became clear that things had changed, from Krischer saying, ‘we’ll put this guy away for life,’ to ‘these are all the reasons why we aren’t going to prosecute this,’ ’’ Reiter said.

There's general agreement that Barry Krischer is at the center of what went wrong in the Epstein case. So why aren't we talking about him? Because he's a Florida Democrat in good standing who aggressively went after Rush Limbaugh, but gave Epstein a pass.

Yep.

From 2006

They were going to let him walk with probation and no sex offender registration.

“Early on, it became clear that things had changed, from Krischer saying, ‘we’ll put this guy away for life,’ to ‘these are all the reasons why we aren’t going to prosecute this’...”

And therein lies the BIG question.... What was given or what and who applied the pressure to accomplish the 180 degree turnaround.

I read when this first broke - I think the article is somewhere here on FR - that that the person who leaned on them was Mueller, at that time the FBI head, who was using or wanted to use Epstein as an informant in his Bear Stearns financial witch-hunt - er, investigation. This is probably why Acosta, who actually was the one who insisted that Epstein get at least the punishment of having to register as a sex offender, had the impression that Epstein was involved in “intelligence.”

Apparently everyone is an FBI informant these days. Even the guy who owned the limo who killed 20 passengers in Schoharie NY was on the payroll. I guess Simon and Garfunkel were right, be careful what to say into the microphone on the lapel. So are we now not prosecuting "informants"?

At the first, when Krischer said to put the guy away for life, the PD didn't mention names, only the facts of the case.

It wasn't until the PD told Krischer that the perp was Epstein that he changed his tone.

This is particularly ominous re krischner:

“He currently serves on the Palm Beach County Alliance, responsible for oversight of children placed in foster care”

how many of these children have ‘gone missing’?

‘Intelligence’ doesn’t likely mean ‘FBI informant’.

In this case it likely means ‘Mossad’.

Yes, now that you mention it, it does seem that everybody is an FBI “asset” these days! Weird.

Didn’t know who the guy was. Acosta, the judge he road in on and this guy are all responsible for every time a child has been victimized since the fauxecution. Is someone implying acosta should get a free pass because the boogie man made him do it.

Cyrus Vance’s Office Sought Reduced Sex-Offender Status for Epstein

July 9, 2019

During a hearing in 2011, a seasoned sex-crimes prosecutor from Mr. Vance’s office argued forcefully in court that Mr. Epstein, who had been convicted in Florida of soliciting an underage prostitute, should not be registered as a top-level sex offender in New York.
Instead, the prosecutor, Jennifer Gaffney, asked a judge to reduce Mr. Epstein’s sex-offender status to the lowest possible classification, which would have limited the personal information available to the public, and would have kept him from being listed on a registry of sex offenders for life.
Justice Ruth Pickholz vehemently denied the request and expressed incredulity that the district attorney’s office would argue in support of a man accused of sexually molesting dozens of teenage girls in Florida.
“I have to tell you, I’m a little overwhelmed because I have never seen a prosecutor’s office do anything like this,” the judge told Ms. Gaffney.
Mr. Vance has said the request was a mistake and had been made by Ms. Gaffney without his knowledge.

Vance has a history of going easy on high-profile pervs.

His office let disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein off the hook after the producer admittedly groped a model in 2015 — and it was later revealed that Vance had received $26,550 in campaign donations from Weinstein’s lawyer, with some of the dough coming after the investigation was dropped.

You are parroting the Democrat Party and media false narrative that somehow U.S. Attorney Acosta was responsible for Epstein not getting a more serious sentence.

The Palm Brach District Attorney was going to let Epstein plead to only a misdemeanor and get no jail time.

Although this was a state case, Federal prosecutors and Acosta required Epstein to plead guilty to two state prostitution charges, serve jail time, register as a sex offender, and pay restitution to victims identified by the FBI. The agreement was to address the state of Florida’s prior decision not to bring felony charges against Epstein.

Acosta was not directly involved in the agreement, but prosecutors said it was the best available solution. Prosecutors believed conviction by trial in federal court was unlikely.

Here is a good short summary of what actually happened.

The media are now dishonestly attacking Acosta and lying about what really happened.

And Epstein was being protected by Mueller and the FBI.

Thanks for posting that link! I knew I had seen something from court docs about Mueller’s involvement but I didn’t know where.

So essentially, Mueller stopped it from going to Federal court (even though it was interstate) and then leaned on the guy in Palm Beach County, who was only too happy to oblige, outraging even the judge. At that point, Acosta (US DA) came in and at least made sure there was some punishment for Epstein.

BTW, I also read that most of the girls wouldn’t testify. Had they been scared off too, I wonder?
