Tom Steyer officially announces presidential bid

Billionaire Tom Steyer officially entered the presidential race on Tuesday, saying he would seek the Democratic nomination for president despite having previously ruled out a run in January.

In a video released Tuesday morning, Steyer said, "if you think that there's something absolutely critical, try as hard as you can and let the chips fall where they may. And that's exactly what I'm doing. My name's Tom Steyer, and I'm running for president."

I’d rather see them nominate Harris and go down in flames with her. They want her to be the nominee soooo bad, they should get what they want and see how it really plays to the electorate. She could be the first major party candidate in modern history not to break 30%.

Steyer must get the requisite number of individual donors to appear on stage at the debates. I see this as a ploy to pressure the House Dems to initiate impeachment proceedings. Steyer has been funding massively propaganda to impeach Trump. He is also a diehard environmentalist who wants climate change to be the number one priority.

If the Dems cave on his demands, Steyer will withdraw. He has little name recognition and will have a hard time getting grassroots support.

If he doesn't get the nomination, he won't handle it well. Very egotistical - may run as a third party candidate or work to undermine the Dem nominee to show everybody how wrong they were to not nominate him.
