A Writer As Big As America
PJ Media ^ | 4 July 2019 | Sarah Hoyt

Posted on 07/04/2019 3:11:21 PM PDT by Rummyfan

As some of you know, I’m an American by choice. I left kin and country, culture and connections to throw in my lot with the freedom gang.

How did this come to happen? How could a girl raised in Portugal, of patriotic (fanatic, really) parents get to the point where she felt expatriate, a stranger in a strange land?

Well, a lot of it had to do with what I read. When I tell people I was raised in Robert A. Heinlein books, I wasn’t joking. And there was something in those books that just made me American, before I even realized it was happening.

(This by the way is why I have zero sympathy with the invaders at our border, singing the anthems of their nations and reviling us and our flag, even as they seek to come in. Yes, our immigration system needs fixing. A lot of what needs fixing is the tweaks that the left made over the decades, like lotteries from sh*t—er… underprivileged countries, treating the US as some sort of charity that must take in the neediest and not those who want to become Americans. But the watchwords for immigration should always be Fit in or … er… Fly off. Anything else is an invasion. People who invade illegally, flaunting our laws and calling us oppressive need to be sent home. The alternative is to let them destroy us and all we are. I understand firing them from cannons in the general direction of home is inhumane. But we can picture it. Meanwhile stop “detaining” them. Just send them back. As a bonus, add in Occasional Cortex, she who reviles us from within.)

I was brought up in liberal family. I thought I was a liberal. My conversion to conservative was no doubt affected by having read so much Heinlein.

One need not be in America to become an American in spirit. The inspiration, the yearning to breathe free, and to build on both experience and ambition, not inhibited by strictures on class or origins, may be inculcated almost anywhere in the world, with exposure to the right influences. But to act upon that set of impulses, is to put people in danger in many parts of the world, and they may face either imprisonment or exile.

Our immigration system is upside down. Rather than to encourage THESE already inspired future citizens, the legal strictures on the current immigration policy have favored the applications for citizenship with those who are uninspired by the American Spirit, or actively work to diminish or destroy the ideals that are the foundation of the Great American Experiment. Winning a lottery, or coming in on a “chain migration” which included very extended family, without regard to merit, is self-defeating, and correctly identified as such by President Trump.

It used to be required that the new immigrant be able to be self-supporting upon arrival, not to become a beneficiary of the social network for the truly needy, and to be reasonably literate in the English language. As part of the naturalization process, it was expected that the individual familiarize himself or herself with the culture, history, and legal standards of the adopted country, and while not denying ties to the past, unreservedly embrace the promise and rewards of the new home.

We shall need many, many more of this kind of immigrant.

The favorite author and ideal role model of Charles Manson (click here).

A great trio illustrating the principle of how to corrupt American decency: Hugh Hefner, Charles Manson, Robert Heilein.

[P. S. -- I read "Stranger In A Strange Land" when it was hot off the press, it sparked the corruption of my mind. In that day it was devastatingly shocking--but not very much now. Our society has become so corrupt that it is far worse than the amorality pictured in Heinlein's stories. He was clearly a willing son of Satan, as illustrated in his published book of hatred for the God of the Bible, as reported by Dan Martin in his article "The Gospel According to Heinlein, or Why Christians are sometimes God’s worst enemies…" (click here).

Any friend of Robert Heinlein and his philosophy is a very clear enemy of the beloved America that my predecessors and I were raised in, a country that no longer exists, due to Heinlein, Hefner, Manson the devotee of them, and others of that ilk who now own the airwaves and print media.

Heinlein's stories are slick, as were those of Ayn Rand, another of that God-hating litter of false prophets.

Citizens? They were. Builders of a decent America? Never, ever. Corrupters of the soul, more like it.

If you think Heinlein is a great man, you are my enemy. What a shame that FR would be used to give this man accolades.

Heinlein was NOT a patriot.

Our Founders would have hung him for his philosophy of self-glorification, the very image and imitator of Lucifer (Isaiah 14:9-20).

Agree, alloysteel, it is "upside down". And we should broaden our focus.  Perhaps we should amend the 14th Amendment that guarantees citizenship for anyone born in the USA.

When our nation was founded, every family knew it was on its own to put bread on the table.  But today, we have tens of millions of able-bodied people who are dependents of the State.  And they are are totally un-inspired to act as true citizens.

Why not take back certain privileges, such as the right to vote in Federal, State and Local elections for citizens who are not living up to the obligations of being a citizen?

If 5% to 10% of birthright citizens lost their right to vote until such time as they act like Americans, a powerful message would be sent.

Passing a citizenship exam seem rather inappropriate when Trump taught us that our current government is a sham.  One of the answers on the Citizenship exam is "no one is above the law", yet the Hildebeast willingly disobeyed our laws and walks free.

But a person (birthright or not) who "proves" his citizenship through honest work and self-reliance is worth much more to us that a deadbeat, even if that person has only modest English skills.  Give me honest laborers who respect our American laws, and who want to get ahead in life.  Give me true CITIZENS from whatever color or creed!

"Impoverished migrants" withdraw 4-5 figure sums......empty out Western Unions
americanthinker.com ^ | 6/25/2019 | Monica Showalter / FR Posted on 6/25/2019, 5:40:20 PM by rktman

These migrants have tons of tax-dollars (collected under several identities) from their extended visa-free stays here. The Washington Examiner reports they are cleaning out the Western Unions in Texas based on their huge withdrawals:

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — People assisting the thousands of migrants who have arrived in San Antonio after being released from federal custody say Western Unions downtown are regularly running out of cash as a result of the high number of withdrawals being made by emigrants from Central American and African nations. “Western Union has run out for the past two-and-a-half months," said Khalid Chini, a local resident and volunteer at the migrant resource center downtown. "All the surrounding area, the Western Unions, they run out of money.” Withdrawals are running in the four and five-figure sums, according to the Examiner: (Excerpt) Read more at americanthinker.com ...

African migrants newly arrived at our southern border flash ‘rolls of $100 bills’
American Mirror ^ | June 16, 2019 | Kyle Olson / FR Posted by yesthatjallen (Video at link)

The “poor huddled masses” coming across the southern border may not be so poor after all. Swiss journalist Urs Gehriger recently visited African migrants who breached the border and hung out on the streets of San Antonio, Texas, waiting to go elsewhere in the country, and he met hostility from people who didn’t want to share details about their experiences, conflicted each other, and had rolls of $100 bills. In a recording played on Fox News, Gehriger asks a migrant from Congo how she got to America. She refused to say.

As Gehriger continued to ask simple questions, he said they backtracked and “were not answering at all.” “They wouldn’t tell me anything about how they got here, and then they started to get aggressive and they were contradicting each other,” he told Laura Ingraham. “One said they ran through the forest, and another said no, there was no forest, and they were actually arguing among themselves,” Gehriger said. He said they started to get “aggressive” after questions about money and help.

Gehriger believes the illegals were coached on giving answers to authorities. “I had the impression that somebody told them not to speak about it,” and acting like “now we’re here, you have to help us, give us money.” “What I found from an aid worker there, they actually do have money. Quite a few of them, because he spotted them under a tree, right in front of the shelter, counting a roll of money with hundred dollar bills,” Gehriger told Ingraham. Hundreds of migrants Congo and Angola were transported to San Antonio the week before, and city officials say they received no warning from the feds that they were coming. KENS published a story showing dozens of people milling around downtown, saying they arrived at the southern U.S. border by way of Ecuador. ETC...

Sounds good on paper, but in reality the liberals will NEVER allow that to happen. These persons are their base and totally dependent on the libs winning in order to be kept in line at the feed bag, have a roof overhead and a free phone to call home.

At one time states had a poll tax which was to be paid before one voted. This was abolished. To come back with a law such as those suggested here, it does make sense....exactly why it will never be seen.

I forgot about the poll tax. We should reinstitute it. You can bet the deadbeats won’t show up.

It’s interesting to see these figures. All that tax-free income going to Mexico. About $1,000 a year of that $10.5 billion transfers to India is from me.

I have a guy in Bangalore who transcribes my audio interviews. Great service. Actually I’m a net importer of business since I have a few international clients who buy my tech research reports.
