The attack on the Texas Revolution has begun. A year or so ago a radical dumped hundreds of gallons of herbicide on the Treaty Oak and killed it. There is no question we are headed for civil conflict.
Actually, the Treaty Oak was poisoned in 1989. It was heavily damaged, but it did survive thanks to intervention measures, although nearly 2/3rds of it had to be pruned away. The culprit was convicted of felony criminal mischief and sentenced to nine years in prison.
