Homelessness has made encampments a familiar sight across Southern California, and with people living on the streets come problems like sidewalks being used as bathrooms, rat infestations and diseases. In an interview with Fox News from Osaka, Japan, the president agreed the filth in American cities was very sad.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti responded to Trumps remarks Tuesday during an appearance on KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO, where he said he was actually encouraged by the presidents attention to the issue.
Any day the president is talking about homelessness is a good day, Garcetti said. The only thing I would correct him on is that he said this started two years ago. Its been something thats been decades in the making, and I welcome federal help. To me this is going to require all hands. I think people are so sick of the political games. So if he (Trump) wants to roll up our sleeves and meet us, Im ready.
Pressed on whether he was inviting the president to walk the streets of Los Angeles, Garcetti said, Absolutely. I would be more than happy to do that.
Just looked it up. Yeah, if the 304 has the right price and you don’t mind pulling a rebuild, sounds like the way to go.

I think his tactic is effectively calling out Newsom. Lets see what happens? As for the cost, subtract it from the subsidy.
As I recall, yes, it was under Reagan, as governor of CA, that the deinstitutionalization took place.
What most people don't remember, or choose not to remember, is that it was caused by leftists suing the state to let the mentally ill, druggies and the profoundly mentally disabled, be “free”. It was a disaster and affected my own family in a very real way.
This is a local problem that should not require Red states to cough up more money to fix.
America is becoming Kalifornia.
create hardship under the guise of keeping federal workers safe from hazards to motivate local gov. to clean up its fecal problem.
I had the 304 in a Commando. Gave me no trouble, but wasnt a HP monster by any means.
A million here, a million there, pretty soon you're restoring the rule of law.
Would be nice. But if it doesn’t happen in the first 60% of a Trump term, will it ever?
AMC V8s in general were nothing to get that excited about.
Same block, different bore.
The oil pump? They sucked - poorly.
Dad found out about that problem in the early 70s.

Yes and no. At this very moment, I have a "homeless" person living in his van, in my driveway.
He cannot work a regular job due to newly developed medical issues, which means he has no income at all. He has worked his entire life as a piece work contractor. He is one of the finest finishing carpenters I have ever known. We're talking Norm Abrams level skillset here.
His only refuge is my driveway. His exes won't have him, his siblings are too busy to help him, his father is still at 84 yrs a drunken jerk and his mother is dead.
Pray tell, what choices are available to my childhood friend?
Perhaps you have a job for a man that CANNOT do the job he spent his entire life learning?
Each engine was ideal for its designed purpose. Personally, I would go with the inline 6 for an off-roader in the Jeep family. Smoother power, closer to original equipment, and nearly bombproof
There’s a HELL of a lot more than a million illegals here. Deport them all. Back to the beautiful state it once was.
And these “mayors” don’t think their sanctuary policies won’t be part of the deal....they just see the potential for a slush fund to squander on more leftist policies while the $#!+ piles higher.
Maybe he should just send all the illegals there.
Ninety percent of homelessness is brain damage from drug use.
