Trump meets Kim in DMZ, becomes first sitting US president to step into Hermit Kingdom

With wide grins and a historic handshake, President Trump became the first sitting U.S. leader to set foot in North Korea when he took 20 steps into the Hermit Kingdom on Sunday.

Trump shook hands with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as he crossed the low stone curb separating the North and the South at around 3:45 p.m. local time. The event in the Demilitarized Zone — which also included a roughly 50-minute meeting behind closed doors — marked a return to face-to-face contact between the two leaders after talks broke down during a summit in Vietnam in February.

Speaking to reporters afterward, Trump said that the two leaders had agreed to revive talks on the pariah nation’s nuclear program.

The president said, "speed is not the object" in trying to reach a deal but noted he believes both sides want to get the job done.

"We're looking to get it right," Trump said.

The meeting between Trump and Kim was the first face-to-face meeting between the two since their failed summit in Hanoi in February. Prior to that, they met in Singapore last June.

Talks between the U.S. and North Korea had mostly broken down since the Hanoi summit, which ended without a deal. North Korea has hesitated at Trump's insistence that it give up its nuclear ambitions before it sees relief from crushing international sanctions.

The U.S. has said the North must submit to "complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization" before sanctions are lifted.

Possibly the greatest strength he has. His lack of fear Just steps in and does what’s right. Trusting in the Lord and the Armor of God tightly wrapped around him.

Their was speculation that the visit to Camp David contained a very special prayer time last week. Eye of Spy said he was going to Walk and meet up with an old Friend. Speculation on that twitter thread was it was an Emmaus Walk. OUR president has surrounded himself with Godly praying men.

Kim wouldn’t dare. He knows what would happen to him.

Nuclear North Korea and nuclear Iran is what the left wants. It’s pretty sick.

The POTUS was surrounded by Armed North Korean Security Personnel when he stepped over that line without one Secret Service Agent there to protect him.

When Kim stepped into South Korea, those same Armed North Korean Security Personnel came with him.

I will bet a dollar to a donut that some Liberals watching that were praying that one of those North Koreans would go rouge and Assassinate POTUS Trump.

I’m willing to bet that local Nork propaganda is playing this as
Kin forces US President to come to table on his turf’ on account that Dear Leader is so powerful

Or some BS like it.

Good for Trump - but he gave Kim a powerful propaganda tool to use on the population of the PDRK.

“Good for Trump - but he gave Kim a powerful propaganda tool to use on the population of the PDRK.”

Actually a brilliant move on the part of President Trump.
Kim could never look weak and expect to last long.
By inviting Kim to meet him at the DMZ AND walking across to meet Kim he allowed Kim to save face with his generals and underlings.
In Asia face is ALWAYS more important than results.

A very good point - if propping up the little f*** is in our interest.

I don’t think it is, but I;m in no position to have a say - one way or the other.

“A very good point - if propping up the little f*** is in our interest.”

It beats the alternative, which is making him mad and having him lob missiles towards Guam, Japan or across South Korea.
No amount of pushing or bullying is going to work when dealing with Asians. You have to play the long and slow game.

One thing to consider is that most likely Kim isn’t going to be around for very long, his health is in pretty bad shape for someone so young, he may not even make it to 50.

True weighing 290 pounds while being a short and hypertensive smoker isn’t a prescription for a long life.

With that said, what happens when Jong Un kicks off?
With his half brother dead and no male offspring will his sister be allowed to fill the role or will the Kim dynasty end?
Could be interesting times in NOKOR.
