Today’s FBI is NOT the organization I used to have full confidence in. I’m sure there are many good agents, but I’ve seen some pretty bad apples since the election of 2016.
Same goes for the CIA. Of course, the CIA has always had a reputation of stealth and unclear alliances. That goes back at least to George HW Bush, who was the director of the CIA during the Carter Administration.
