Israeli defense electronics company Elbit Systems announced on Wednesday that its US subsidiary has been awarded a $26 million contract from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to install an “Integrated Fixed Towers” system in Arizona that will monitor the US-Mexico border, Globes reported.

According to the report, the project will be carried out over a one-year period. Elbit has previously been awarded a number of contracts by CBP regarding US border security.

The Integrated Fixed Tower system comprises a command and control center and a networked multi-tower, multi-sensor system that continuously monitors portions of the US southern border, providing patrolling agents with intelligence.

No one has more experience and success at security than Israel.

If the USA was smart, we would conduct airport security just like Israel too.

I guess that’s the stretch of the wall they are working on right now. Wall isn’t built in a day

Utterly pointless to detect people coming in when all you do let’s take them to a center, process them for hearing two years later, and release them.

It would be cheaper to install turnstiles. At least we could hook those up to generators and make a lot of electricity at the rate they’d spin

Yes, but. Thought Trump was going to give Business to American companies. I thought MAGA meant bringing the businesses and jobs home

Unfortunately this reminds me of San Francisco using foreign steel for the new bay bridge

What happened to Trumps “buy American” pledge?

It’s an American subsidiary of an Israeli company. The American subsidiary no doubt employs primarily Americans since it is based in America

Electronics can be turned off by idiot judges and politicians.

Right. Is this one of those “virtual” walls? Sort of like virtual sex? But even with a real wall it’s no good if you don’t IMMEDIATELY deport violaters. Next week will be interesting. Will there be another delay? That’ll be a deal breaker.

Well yes, but look at the jobs he’s already brought back and still ones to follow. Perhaps the Israeli’s have a better “mousetrap” plan......know what I mean?....;)

Ridiculous. We can secure our own border and shouldn’t be contracting this to any foreign entity.

Without massive reform within, the wall is worthless. There is no will from government and half of America’s population to do so.

Seeing as its an American subsidiary, it will be Americans doing the work.

OK. Well, if the Israelis are going to direct Americans to do the work, how could anybody possibly look forward to the day we just leave a foreign entity out of securing our border entirely?

Excellent, now ask the ROK Marines for bids on the rest of the border. Numbers of illegals making it into the U.S. will go down markedly!

Probably a test. A ton of technology has been tested over the years on the border, some works and most fails. The issues are temperature changes, sand blasting dirt storms, torrential flash flood rains, wind. A big issue is remoteness of most of the border that needs technology. There are areas that are 200+ miles from a town of any size or city, hard to get techs out there to service or repair.

New technology is generally put in one area for a test over a period of time before investing in a lot of stuff that doesn’t work.
