The idea seems to be to take a candidate that would be completely out of their depth on the world stage (and is therefore very controllable) and try to get them elected by saying that only evil intolerant people could object to them due to their sexuality rather than the elephant in the room of their profound weakness of their lack of standing on the world stage. It’s a false dilemma fallacy. It’s sort of like Harry Potter, with all the book burnings, only by now it has been overdone. I dont think anybody thinks this guy can do the job regardless of how good he is at English Lit class.

Anyone who thinks unnatural acts are “mom and apple pie” has a mental disorder.
The idea behind pushing this candidate is to find someone who meets the bare minimum of qualification for the job constitutionally and pretend that they meet the criteria of the voters. Buttigieg has no standing on the world stage, he is in debt, and he would need a lot of help to just survive the job. That sets up the situation of an extortable president. The global elites, or anyone with money and power, could make undue demands of such a president that would run counter to the needs of the voters. That seems to be Plouffe’s reason for existing.
The gay debate is over. It’s 2019. That said, Mayor Pete is too much of a socialist to be President.
