Mainly, your babies look like Cheech and Chong.
It has long been established there is no respect for life, so this development is no surprise.
As the legendary Bob Grant used to say (correctly), “It’s sick out there folks...and getting sicker.”.
As relevant today as it was back then.
Is this really a legitimate study to be done?
Or look at another way, is there any possible benefit to the baby, if his/her mother is smoking marijuana???
There may or may not be risk to the baby, but why take chances? We advise pregnant women not to drink alcohol. For the baby and other reasons, we advise them to quit smoking during pregnancy.
I question if we really need a study on this.
Damn them! THIS is completely unethical. In a sane world the people who came up with this “study” would be in jail.

So I would assume 2 options, they deliver the baby, analyze for possible birth defects and then post-birth abortion the little one. If not, and defects are present or not, do they provide lifetime treatment for the 70 babies expected to be born, or do they tell the mother that she was paid her stipend and signed the waiver.

1. I do not favor this study in humans.
2. As a scientist, I can observe that the prospective study is not well-designed. Photos of the drugs' packaging mean little more than self-reported exposure. Without weekly blood testing, any observations and results mean little. The dose would be un-quantitative, at best. One other concern is the control arm, and whether-or-not they cheat.
It is unlikely that the proposed study can produce results to any satisfactory degree of validity.

My other first reaction was what if this turns out to be like Thalidomide, perhaps not physical traits but in it’s mental development effects?
We already have enough idiots in this world and I’ve never seen an energetic go-getter who was a heavy dope user.
I cannot think of a single likely positive outcome from this, but mental mutilation of the children seems probable.
What Grant writer came up with this, and can we prosecute before it’s too late?
