“I couldn’t give a shit what anyone with any relationship to the UN said about anything.”

You claimed in your previous post that EVERYBODY said there were WMDs. You were wrong. I’m not rubbing your nose in it, just providing a correction. And I don’t need the profanity, thanks.

Trump on Iraq: How Could We Have Been So Stupid? “One Of The Worst Decisions In The History Of The Country”

“You know, if Bush is insulted, I don’t care if he’s insulted,” Trump said Wednesday. “It was a horrible mistake. We should have never been there. Somebody says, oh, that’s not good to criticize? I say criticize? It’s one of the worst decisions in the history of the country. We have totally destabilized the Middle East.”

Whoever wrote the headline didn’t listen to and doesn’t understand either one. While they expressed a preference for a military strike, they had much more to say.

...unless the guy invading your home has it surrounded with artillery.

What happened is precisely what GEN Wayne Downing (Google him), Deputy National Security Advisor, said of the war/invasion plan. His plan was to establish a large, combined (US, joint and foreign) special operations force (SF, Rangers, SEALs, SAS, SBS, etc.) supported by multiple, redundant intelligence collection platforms and special operations aviation. He wanted to place that force well away from populated areas and employ quick strike missions as soon as HVTs were identified. He said, “We won’t let those bastards sleep and they’ll never know if, when or how we’re coming.” He also said - and I paraphrase a bit, “If we put that many conventional forces in a place like Iraq, we’re just creating a target-rich environment for terrorists.”

that article means nothing to me- The truth is, there were wmd’s period- people on the ground over there knew it- Even this liberal rag lays out the fact that yes, there were wmd’s there- your next link comes from an un inspector- who was against the war- despite the FACT that there were several additional valid reasons for going to war against Iraq- Trump is wrong on this- As Much as i like Trump- He is wrong on this- The dufar report was making excuses for Saddam after wmd’s were found- claiming saddam simply ‘forgot he had them’ Yeah right!

https://theintercept.com/2015/04/10/twelve-years-later-u-s-media-still-cant-get-iraqi-wmd-story-right/

If bush later said he was mistaken- then He’s mistaken about being mistaken- pointing to his statement doesn’t do anything to discredit the fact that there were wmd’s there- but again wmd’s weren’t even the sole reason for war with saddam- The MSM tried to make it out to be- and people fell for the lie hook line and sinker- and then the media kept repeating over and over and over that there were no wmd’s and this too was a lie- they jumped on a UN inspector’s claim instead of listening to the actual people in the war over there- and kept repeating the un inspector’s lie too-

I’m sorry- but trump is wrong about this issue, and saddam needed to go- and not just because of wmd’s- That was never the sole reason for taking out that freak-

You might want to re-read my post. I made no such claim.

Moreover, I’ll be damned if I’m going to be corrected by some arm chair foreign policy expert when this is what I’ve been doing for the past 40 years.

We/EVERYBODY knows that Iraq had them and had used them. None of you armchair quarterbacks have answered the question, “Where’d they go?”

p.s. I don’t care if Bush is insulted either. He listened to Cheney, Rumsfeld and Powell instead of Downing, the real warrior. Bush was a nice guy on a personal level, but a dumbass when it came to foreign policy. Cheney, Rumsfeld and Powell had their own thing going; my opinion as to what that was and why is more speculation than fact, so I’ll pass on sharing it.

Thanks for sharing your perspective, obviously strongly felt

I’m still with Trump on this one. As he told Jeb to Jebs face in the debate, invading Iraq was a disastrous mistake. Jeb didn’t like hearing that, and I can understand. When a member of your family - your brother in this case - screws up, it’s hard to hear and your instinct is to defend him. Jeb was being a good brother. But Trump was being a good, honest American

Imagine the courage it took for Trump to denounce the Iraq War in front of an audience of GOP big-wigs, most of them with close ties to the Bushes? He got loudly booed, and many GOP bigwigs became “nevertrumpers” that night!

But many rank and file, like me, were so happy to hear a GOP candidate break ranks and speak common sense about the Iraq War.

[[None of you armchair quarterbacks have answered the question, “Where’d they go?”]]

They did find some, but the majority were indeed moved- We even had chemical scientists from Iraq telling us they had them if i recall correctly- so, they did go somewhere- and Bush should have NEVER capitulated ot left by later saying he was ‘mistaken’ - Capitulation was the only mistake he made- Just because something isn’t found doesn’t mean someone didn’t have them- but the fact is, some were indeed found- Where did the rest go? Good question- But the fact we didn’t find them doesn’t mean they weren’t there at some point, then moved- and everyone knows damn well they were moved- but those who support the liberal narrative still to this day claim there never were any and the war was unjustified based solely on the fact that we didn’t find the amounts we knew were there- liberals still claim there weren’t any found at all- those supporting liberals claim the ones that were found were ‘old and of no use’

Saddam is in hell right now- getting the exact same torture and treatment he dished out- He isn’t putting people through shredders alive anymore- He isn’t soaking their faces with gasoline and lighting their faces on fire anymore- He isn’t locking them in boxes in the extreme heat so they suffer terribly while they die anymore- He isn’t hanging people on meat hooks, and beating their legs and feet so severely that they break anymore- He isn’t throwing women and children off roof tops anymore- He was one sick prick!

Saddam was one sick SOB, but his sons, especially Uday, were even worse. Uday had people scout elementary and junior high-level schools for pretty young girls for him. None of them were ever seen again and the parents of those girls - the ones who protested the disappearance of their daughters, were among those run through the shredders.

We know what the president didn’t do

We don’t know precisely what he did do

It depends on what they were going to ‘shoot’. It may be best to not do a clinton and shoot at anything. But I wish he had thought of not shooting, before the last minute.

He is squeezing Iran hard... and it will do something.. not sure what yet. If they were angry at Trump before, they sure are now. And no matter how much they might talk, Iran cannot be trusted.

Yeah i remember those reports- The three of them were absolutely demonically possessed- pure evil-

Interesting fact- Saddam believed he was the descendant of king Nebuchadnezzar- and had money made up with both their likenesses on it- He also was beginning to rebuild Babylon- had bricks made with his and Nebuchadnezzar’s name on them made up for the foundations- and tried to buy some false goddess’s temple door which is owned by some foreign country now- but was refused- He was pouring a lot of money into the rebuilding of Babylon- He very likely felt himself immortal- which is all the more ironic when he was found cowering in a spidey hole- He felt he was destined for greatness, just like Nebuchadnezzar- (I guess Saddam didn’t read the part about the king going mad and eating grass like a wild animal for a few years)

He was a delusional- and very dangerous man-

The Bush claim about Iraq was specifically nuclear. They could not have been more clear. It was a lie.

Ozymandias

I met a traveller from an antique land,

Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,

Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,

And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read

Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,

The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;

And on the pedestal, these words appear:

My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;

Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare

The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

-Percy Bysshe Shelley

A disappointed Shapiro tweeted in reply, “Disproportionate response to attacks on US assets are a good way of showing our enemies that we will mash them if they continue to escalate. The US doesn’t want war. You know who doesn’t want war even more? The ayatollahs who will find themselves quite dead if war occurs.”

If this little fag wants to fight, join the US Army, go to war and then come back and let's hear his opinion.

I'm sick of people that haven't even been Boy Scouts, let alone in the military, that want to send some one else's child into harms way.

This little prick couldn't "MASH" my little Puggles, a 32 pound cutie, that would rip his breakfast waffle to shreds, let alone a mooselimb terrorist.

Saddam was trying to get nuclear weapons- And again, This was NOT the sole reason we went to war- We had just been attacked- and there was growing hostility i n the middle east- and Saddam was a threat- violating un resolutions, threatening us- shooting at our planes- etc- violating un resolution- A decisive war against a mad man, aggressor who was seeking nuclear weapons, after we were attacked, would show the middle east we are strong and WILL NOT be threatened by anyone! This was one of the main reasons we waged this war- and the msm knew it- Yet they lied and lied and lied- trying to make it out the war was nothing but war over wmd’s -

It was not a lie that saddam wanted nuclear weapons- read the link i posted- but again- this was not even the sole or even the primary reason for the war-The lying media and people opposed to the war- made it seem that way-
