Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin are mad Trump didn't shoot first and ask questions later
Washington Examiner ^ | June 24 2019 | Jack Hunter

Posted on 06/25/2019 9:03:23 AM PDT by rintintin

The American Conservative Editor Jim Antle writes, "Thursday night was the night Donald Trump became president. You can imagine the hyperbolic hosannahs that would have been sung if Trump had gone ahead with his planned strikes against Iran, adding to the list of undeclared presidential wars. Instead he pulled back."

“Hyperbolic hosannahs,” indeed. Who might have led this pro-war chorus?

Conservative pundits Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin.

When President Trump decided not to strike after being informed it could potentially kill 150 civilians, he explained on Twitter, “10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not ... proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone.”

A disappointed Shapiro tweeted in reply, “Disproportionate response to attacks on US assets are a good way of showing our enemies that we will mash them if they continue to escalate. The US doesn’t want war. You know who doesn’t want war even more? The ayatollahs who will find themselves quite dead if war occurs.”

In other words, “mash” them to show these pesky foreign countries we mean business, because such strategic military intervention including regime change has always worked out so well for us in the past (Thanks again, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton).

Kudos to you for saying what must be said so that the truth is finally out in the open. Very little truth out there today because of the MSM and their “fake news” aka lying. Same goes for the Marxist Left who exist on lies, deception, and the byproduct of years of dumbed-down education being totally gullible.

One of the UN Inspectors warning that Iraq had little WMD capability was a Marine G2, Scott Ritter. That might be who you’re thinking of.

Bush 43’s decision to invade Iraq wasn’t hard to fathom if you were familiar with a 1990s foreign policy think tank that went by the name of the Project for a New American Century.

This group had called for invasion and regime change in Iraq as early as 1998, and had urged Bill Clinton to do it.

This would be of minor interest except that the members of this Project for a New American Century went on to be important advisors or even members of the Bush 43 administration. Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush, Elliott Abrams, Richard Armitage, Richard Perle, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Robert Zoellick, and John Bolton.

“I do think Bush had no other choice in 2003.”

Yes, he did! Sadam Hussein wan’t the genesis of 911, the Saudis were. But the Booshes had their collective noses up the Saudi Royal Famiy’s a$$es because of their oil interests and possibly because Daddy Boosh didn’t finish the job when he went into Kuwait. Then, to add insult to injury that motherf*cker “W” let the conflict drag on for the entirety of his 8 years as President. Only Obola has managed to pi$$ away more of America’s treasure than “W” Boosh, and “W” Boosh holds the record between the two of them for the most young Americans needlessly killed to keep things cool with Saudi Arabia. Count me as a newly-minted “Never Boosher,” who bought into his bull$hit when he was President. While we’re fixin’ to string up Comey, Brennan, Clapper, et al, we should include W!

“However, we knew saddam had them, that he used them, that he was actively trying to restart it- “

The Survey Group found that none of his labs had been in operation since Gulf War I. They were all dilapidated.

“WMD’s were mvoed out as stated by his own generals- and his own chemical weapons experts”

The Survey Group interviewed Saddam’s weapon scientists and his generals. None of them said that WMDs had been shipped out of Iraq which is why that story isn’t in their report, despite your firm belief in it.

“you call them all liars- just as you do to bush”

I called Bush a fool, not a liar. Learn to read.

“Saddam was a threat- was growign as a threat, and was a very nasty creature- “

He couldn’t even defeat Iran right next door. Nor hold on to Kuwait. But some hysterics want to believe that he was a threat to the United States.

“If you don’t think he was a threat- well that just flies i nthe face of facts-”

Even Bush 43 no longer believes that nonsense. He accepts the findings of his own Iraq Survey Group.

Daddy Bush listened to foreign policy realists. And they had enough sense to know it was a fool’s errand to invade Iraq and end up owning it.

The old adage of ‘better the devil that you know than the one that you don’t’ is something the Daddy Bush crowd understood.

Some of them remembered how Jimmy Carter’s bright idea of knocking off Noriega and the Shah turned out

By contrast, Son Bush listened to neocon crackpots who believed that you could easily turn Iraq into a western democracy. Just remove Saddam, give everyone the vote, and voila! Iraq would be just like Kansas. All that “Islam” stuff was irrelevant to those geniuses.

“You mean Scott the Traitor don’t you?”

That’s what Team Bush Jr wanted us to believe. Otherwise we might have doubted their WMD argument for invasion.

It's the old ayatollahs who DO want war with the great demon U.S. before they die..........It's the moderates who are waiting in the wings for the old guard to either die off or be killed who do not want a war with the U.S.......
