Thursday, authorities released the names of the four Gretna teenagers who died in this weeks horrible car crash, along with a fifth victim being treated for burns at a Lincoln hospital. That is Roan Brandon, 15, who found out Wednesday that her four best friends had died.
Sarpy County authorities and Gretna Public Schools Superintendent Kevin Riley held a press conference to discuss the crash.
Our collective heart in our community is shattered, Riley said. We ache for the families.
The five girls were all soon-to-be juniors at Gretna High. Barth, Odermatt and Pfeifer were 16, Minardi 15.
These are good girls, he said. Theyre smart girls. Theyre the closest of friends.

That’s the wrong HTML code.
Awful. Dreadful. Horrifying.
Yep. Hits harder when its girls. Happens, or at least used to happen, more often with guys. Maybe they’re too busy on the internet.
This is my town. The accident happened about 4 miles straight south of my house. It is truly a tragedy for our little burg. I didn’t know any of the kids but a couple of them went to my church.
Link no worky.
Sad
For the girls.
It seems like we read a story like this every year at schools break time.
My son and his 4 friends almost met the same fate a few weeks ago. It’s a miracle they are alive. Lots of healing still ahead.
I pray for these families.
I knew a girl who was like the fifth girl here... the only survivor of the crash. Even years later, she was seriously messed up in the head as a result. PTSD or something.
I would imagine so.
Since the wreck my son was involved in...all passengers..including the driver...have anxiety.
So very sad. They were gorgeous. May God comfort their parents, and all those who loved them.
Four high school senior girls were killed in a car crash in my neck of the woods, five or six years ago.
One of them was driving, and was texting. The police analyzed the cell phone records. No doubt about it.
Amen.
If the info in that article is accurate, those young ladies were doing a lot wrong.
Parents might want to use them as a cautionary tale.
This is why my state gives probationary licenses to new drivers and doesn’t allow them to drive with any passengers until they have a real license.
