Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) compared President Donald Trump to his predecessor, former President Barack Obama, for calling off a military retaliation against Irans regime.
So Ill wait to see additional information on it, but I think its important that people recognize that the United States is going to keep its word and not go down the path that President Obama went down, Cheney told a CNN reporter on Friday.

I think Liz Cheney is wrong here, and I think Trump is right. Doesn't mean we have to write Liz Cheney off.
I used to be a neocon, and I think that made sense for a time. Doesn't make sense anymore. Doesn't mean I think all neocons are idiots or nuts; just that the USA has pushed the usefulness of intervention to its limits.
Tucker Carlson made a good case last night that Iran is very different than Iraq and than war with the former is both more avoidable and would be more disastrous than war with the latter.
It’s apparent to me the Neocons/Pentagon, when asked by Trump to prepare a response, actually started moving forces way beyond what POTUS envisioned.
They were ready to strike within minutes of receiving the OK.
In the ‘big meeting’, Trump[ asked them what the plan was. He didn’t like it and told them: NO! You’re not going to start a war over a friggin’ drone!
After the meeting they ran to the press, because they are TRAITORS to the American people. They intend to make Trump look weak to undermine him politically, and hope that encourages Iran to escalate further.
Just so the War Pigs can have another war.

Wrong Cheney.
Yes, but Trump knows that starting an armed conflict with Iran right now would hamper his chances for re-election, so don’t look for any military interventions until after the election. If I were Trump, i’d set about to complete the economic destruction of Iran, but his problem there is the feckless Europeans.
Are there other ways to punish the Sandies, such as sanctions:
Or has that all been exhausted?
To the Ayatollahs and hardliners clinging to power that was accepted and subsidized by obama and Kerry,, absorbing a US military strike is a badge of honor and a rallying point for anti-US and anti-Israel sentiment both in Iran and among other regional and world powers.
Q: How does it stop Iranian proliferation to for the US to spend millions on weapons to takedown a couple of IRGC sites?
A: It doesn't. After the fireworks a million Iranians take to the streets to repledge their loyalty to the mullahs vs the Great Satan
Trump is the CinC of a multi domain war, which is ongoing
But most people are clueless
This war (of ideas, that Iran is unworthy of joining the Nuclear Club) has to be won by the US before the first shot is fired
Trump is getting us there
Some people are still asking the question “What would Bush - either one - have done?” , and judging right or wrong from there. It does work, sort of, if you just follow the opposite path.
No, but President Trump knows there are hawks all around him as well as doves. I think he wants both as a balance to each other. He’s going to make his own mind up in the end. I too have longed to see that Persian paradise become a glass parking lot, but he did the wise thing. I like how he takes information from all sources (that ring of any kind of truth) and makes up his own mind. His instincts got him to become President and they will get him re-elected in a landslide IF he remains as “dumb” as a fox as he has.
I think President Trump was right. Explaining why he called off the strike was excellent. Liz Chaney is wrong.
Wrongo-— this is Dick’s daughter— Wyoming.
Trump is no Blame America First coward like Obama
Obama launched two wars - both without Congressional authorization. He went to war against Libya, removing its government ( and ushering in chaos). And he armed a jihadi war against Syrias government ( again ushering in chaos)
The Cheneys supported both of those wars, if I remember correctly
Obama was not a noninterventionist like Reagan and Trump. He was an interventionist and would-be regime-changer like W Bush and Liz Cheneys father
Maybe the president recalled who it was that used to like to say “bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran.”
Yeah, that guy.
“so dont look for any military interventions until after the election”
Depends on what you mean by intervention. I will be surprised if Trump lets shooting those drones down go unanswered. And it should be fairly soon.
Does Liz Cheney have any problem with the Saudis?
Liz Cheney is not a lesbian.
Cheney and Powell felt like a good leadership team for Bush41 during DESERT STORM. Now in retrospect, not so much.
Dick Cheney was an excellent Hand of the King in getting Bush43 up and running in his first term, and in dealing with the huge crises that we faced from 2001-2004,
After that, not so much.
Given this drivel by Liz Cheney, which undermines Trump publicly at a time of enormous risk and complexity...shes weak, not as smart as Dick, and trades on her family name,
Trump is more like Reagan than like Bush or Lizs father. Reagan was a noninterventionist. Even after the Soviets shot down a passenger airliner he didnt retaliate militarily. But he still won the Cold War. In contrast, the Bush-Cheney interventionism has cost a lot of lives, but hasnt won any wars
Trump is smart enough to see that the Cheney way is the wrong way
“...told CNN”
Enough said.
No wise person goes near CNN right now.
Neocons are poised to support Biden, for the sake of John McCain.
