New York city is worn out. It needs to be made into a separate state so the rest or New York isn’t dragged down by that city’s maintenance costs.
I really like the idea of establishing some City-States.
New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, etc.
I’d support a Constitutional Amendment giving each City-State a single senator and some number of Reps. Allow the actual state to reclaim it’s Senatorial seats and House Reps.
States like Illinois seem to have no political representation. Only Chicago has representation. It’s not fair.
So is Chicago, so is Atlanta, so is Los Angeles, the list of failed major cities is very long.
