If diGenova knows anything about the third Scope Memo I wish he had at least hinted at its content. He indicts Rosenstein as a coward who fell under the control of Comey and McCabe.

Last night I conjectured about the possibility that Rosenstein had been leveraged by ... perhaps the FBI leadership; it was Rosenstein who recommended that Comey be fired; it was the IG that led to McCabe's firing.

I thought it odd that Rosenstein met POTUS on AF1 - everyone expected he was being fired - and he exited that encounter as appearing as one of the good guys... and stayed straight to the end with AG Barr.

diGenova blamed the whole Mueller / Weissman sabotage of Trump's first two years on Rosenstein, supporting what I wrote to lj some time ago: without Rosenstein there would have been no Russia investigation. (Victoria Toensing supported what I said two years ago: the SC investigation itself was illegal.)

So what do we conclude about Rosenstein? He plunged the country into a near civil war with an illegal dirty investigation; the Mueller Report and all its intentional inaccuracies was a product of the coup cabal. Yet Rosenstein emerged in Prez Trump's good graces. For now and for me the best explanation is that he was compromised, that the cabal neutralized Sessions to move Rosenstein into place, and Rosenstein played his role UNTIL POTUS somehow freed him.

It was a DS coup d'etat and the coup cabal held sway for quite some time.

There doesn’t have to be a grand conspiracy. Manafort was a washed up 3rd tier political consultant when Trump hired him. His career was over. No doubt the KGB could do better if they had wanted an asset to go after Trump.

Concurring bump...Manafort was an old school GOP operative who'd been out of the game for decades when Trump brought him back in. He was only part of the campaign for a few short months...hired to wrangle delegates for the nomination, and let go shortly after.

Frankly, the whole 'Manafort was a Russian plant' is a DNC/Deep State talking point and I'm surprised anyone at FR would try to give it credence.
