On Thursday, former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore made his expected candidacy for the 2020 U.S. Senate Republican nomination official with an announcement in Montgomery.
Reactions to Moores candidacy have been plentiful, and on the Thursday broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, conservative talker Mark Levin, author of Unfreedom of the Press, offered his response with an endorsement for State Rep. Arnold Mooney (R-Indian Springs).
Levin called Mooney the most conservative individual in a field that includes Moore, Mooney, former Auburn head football head coach Tommy Tuberville and U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-Fairhope).
I want to make an endorsement for the U.S. Senate in Alabama, Levin said. I see Roy Moore has jumped in. I want to endorse Arnold Mooney, who is a state representative, who is a solid conservative for the nomination of the Republican Party of the U.S. Senate in Alabama. Later in the summer, I hope to have him on the program. It is a little early now.
I was going to wait on this endorsement, but since Roy Moore has jumped in look, folks, weve not only got to hold the Senate but increase it with more conservatives. Weve got to take back the House. We have to reelect the president. It is that simple. I see whats on the horizon, and so do you. Im not just a squawker behind the microphone telling you how great I am and all the rest of it. I am an activist. So the most conservative individual, and hes a terrific individual who is running for the Republican nomination in the state of Alabama as far as Im concerned is Arnold Mooney.

Crawl back under your rock
You never fail to rise to the GOPee banner! Stick it bert.
your adherance to archaic dogma is not valid
Absolutely correct!
Like I said, don’t be a clown.
Like I said, don’t push an open borders shill.
You have made it clear by your post that amnesty is a priority for you.
Thus, you and Levine are on the opposite side of that issue from me and that is my first, second, and third priority.
Rush chuckled and said, I know, I know, but Trump supporters are not going to be talked into supporting Cruz.
He followed it up with another of his apologies that he couldnt endorse anyone and he wasnt going to change that long term policy of his.
Rush didnt endorse anyone, but that slip of the tongue was notable.
That is not even three minutes of the ten plus he used to talk to it.
I don’t and I also a leopard can’t change his spots.
No; McConnell, Karl Rove, and the GOPe didn’t want Mooney to run last time. I think Trump has learned his lesson on who to endorse.
Levin was a never-Trumper. Levin has acknowledged he was wrong about Trump, Now that the evidence is clear, Trump is doing exactly what he promised.
I just listened and EVERYTHING I am referencing is not in that clip.
Get the original first hour.
He proved to be trainable hence forgivable!
Two plus years ago if someone would have told me Trump a liberal NY Republican by any measure would be governing more conservatively & effectively the Reagan I would have said great wacky tobacco you’re smoking. I only voted for him to keep Hellary out of power. Every day since has been a wonderful surprise! So cut Levin a break! He’s come around, maybe others will too but since their numbers are so small I don’t really care!
Thanks conservative98.
Wow, I hadn’t heard that one. I’m compiling a list of outrageous NeverTrump comments Levin made during the election. I’ll have to add that to my list, right next to the time right after the election that he tried to take credit for Trump’s victory, after trashing him right up to election day. Levin is a braying jackass.
