Alabama Republican Roy Moore has announced he is running for U.S. Senate again in 2020 after failing to win the seat two years ago amid sexual misconduct accusations.
Moore announced his campaign Thursday, seeking an eventual rematch against Democratic Sen. Doug Jones. The announcement upends an election viewed by Republicans as a top priority in 2020 and ignores President Donald Trump's warning that he "cannot win."

Yes, *THAT* is the stuff that caused him to lose. It had nothing to do with the most vicious media assault against a man I have ever witnessed (besides Trump, who has exceptional talent in dealing with such attacks) and it had nothing to do with the National party signalling that Moore was unfit, and Moore's own US Senator from Alabama getting on television and urging the public to "write in" another name.
No, it was riding a horse that cost him the election. It was waving a pistol in Alabama that cost him the election.
All the accusations and propaganda from the national media systems had nothing to do with it.
Or the $20 million the Republicans spent against him.
In his speech he is totally nonplussed. He laid out the DC machine out to get him.
One thing is for sure-he is a right-winger and can be counted on.
Will be interesting to see if he can pull it off
yes
“A 33/18 marriage is not that unusual by past standards, and so many people forget Moore is a product of a bygone era when it was not out of the ordinary for young women to marry older established men.”
Yeah maybe OK 100 or more years ago but it is an academic argument. In today’s world Moore exudes the creep factor to enough people to be a problem ... plus he has not never been a good candidate. In the Senate we need a conservative that can be effective. Moore would vote conservative but beyond that would not be much help.
Alabama is full of people every bit as conservative as Moore. I believe we can do better than Moore ... but let’s so who runs. It always comes down to comparative choices.
What I want to know is this — can Moore be counted on to:
* Protect religious freedom
* Protect the unborn
* Limit government
* Defend our borders
* Strengthen our military
* Vote for judges who do not legislate but adhere to the constitution
If Moore is for the above ( and all indicators tell us that he is ), I don’t care that he dated a teenager of LEGAL AGE when he was in his thirties 40 years ago.
I’ll take him over some leftist democrat anytime.
He DID have a chance to defend himself. Sean Hannity gave him a national platform to defend himself on Hannitys radio show, and Moore blundered his way through the interview that he torpedoed his own entire campaign in less than 10 minutes. This guy is so NOT cut out for prime time. He would have been a great candidate in the days before TV ... actually, before RADIO, too.
Moore without question. I dont hate the guy. I just wish hed go away.
In fact, Hannity, after that interview decided to wash his hands of Moore.
Exactly two mentally ill lying kooks have come forward to accuse Moore of serious offenses. On the one claiming he attempted to rape her, three other named witnesses have come forward to refute her story, which doesn't even hold together when you pause to consider it. Couldn't unlock the door to get out of the car? Bullsh*t. Also forging Moore's name and the date on her yearbook as "evidence"? Fabricating evidence is an automatic dismissal of credibility.
The other girl never even met Moore until she was at least 16, because that's what the courthouse records show was the age she was involved in the custody hearing for her to go stay with her father. (She claims to have met Moore during this custody hearing.)
Why was she in a custody hearing? Because she was a drug addicted little slut that her mother could no longer control. The actual timeline of events demonstrates her story is bullsh*t, let alone the contradictions and things that don't make sense included in her statement.
Both of these women were dragged up by that Democrat activist woman (who's name I can look up if you really want to know) in an effort to torpedo Moore's election to the Senate. Neither of these women have credible stories, and Moore should not have been punished on the basis of these ridiculous accusations.
Moore isn’t taking them on in Court though is he?
yes-it seems many of his critics got indoctrinated by the press. Everywhere his name is dragged through the mud as a pedo.
I saw young teens go off and marry men 10-15 years older when I was growing up. It was the norm.
I actually like the fact that Trump sent the message not to run...so he ran.
It’s a free country and the ppl of AL will decide.Sounds like he will bring in exciting competition as well.
I have said this before, but when you can’t win a Senate race in Alabama, as the GOP nominee - regardless of how unfairly you were treated by the media - you really have no right to run again.
Yes, they both have that lying bitch Gloria Allred, who's daughter actually tried to pull the exact same lying con on Donald Trump when he was a candidate. She tried to pay women thousands of dollars to claim Trump assaulted them, and Mama Gloria Allred managed to do the same thing with these two lying b*tches dragged up by that Democrat activist in Alabama.
And yes, i've read their statements, and i've done the research on this. On the woman who claimed Moore attempted to rape her at the "old Hickory House", three people have come forward to refute her story, one of which was a waitress that worked there at the time in question, and says that girl absolutely did not work there during the period in which she claims Moore attempted to rape her. The other two witnesses were regulars at the place, and claimed they never saw Moore there in all the years they patronized the establishment.
On top of that, she forged Moore's name onto her yearbook, and the media helped her cover up the fact.
The other one is just as messed up, and I mentioned bits of it above if you care to look, but i'm not going to go over it again.
he needs to be told he cannot run as a republican and mist run as an independent
On this I agree with you. I wish he wouldn't run.
oh god no...
Please someone primary him...
I’d even take Sessions again.
Apparently Sessions is thinking about running.
The guy is in his 80s.....
