Yes, but just wait until that Obama Presidential Monument is completed... then the throngs will return. /s
Just what you would expect from governing.com.
The question is, are the right people leaving Illinois?
If it’s the braindead Liberals who caused the mess in the first place, they are no better than Cancer Cells infecting other parts of the Body.
call them “high speed rail trains”, this IS Illinois
The Illinois Transportation Department had previously said speeds of 110 mph would be reached by 2019, but the agency has stopped offering predictions on when that will happen. The 110-mph speed would shave about an hour off the typical 5½-hour Amtrak trip between St. Louis and Chicago.

Driving time:
4 h 38 min (298.3 mi) via I-55 N
That is what the story left out. There are many, many square miles of Chicago where all the store signs are in Spanish. You would think you are in Mexico. Illegals and their gangs are pushing the blacks out and taking all the low paying jobs.
NW Indiana’s biggest crime problem is illegals coming out of the sanctuary city of Chicago, committing crimes and jumping back across the border.
The smart ones don’t want to be on the hook for the state constitution-guaranteed pensions when the balloon goes up.
Because it is a $hithole and run by Democrats
I left over 30 years ago from a small town in downstate Illinois. Had relatives that worked in local government jobs. Oh yeah....you had to be a democrat to get those jobs.
Both my siblings moved out of Illinois recently (last 5 years or so). One was definitely driven out by too much taxation.
Have 2 other relatives and their families that moved to a neighboring state(Kentucky).
I believe the gas tax is supposed to go from 19 to 38 cents a gallon on July 1st.
Previous 4 or 5 governors were in prison except for last one.
I did meet someone who just moved to my hometown from Iowa. The reason they gave is that they could buy more house for their money. It is true that there are many houses on the market, but property and other taxes may make them regret it in the long run.
Go to Zillow and zoom into towns in downstate
....theres a sea of houses for sale.
Southern Illinois university in Carbondale used to have 20 to 25 thousand undergraduate student enrollment. Now its below 9500.
A state in decline.
I recently attended a town hall run by a new alderman in DeKalb. The Finance Director was there and said that the entire amount of proceeds from the local property tax went to pensions and health care for retired city employees. So the roads go without repair and all services decline, but the retired employees live well. Gee, no wonder things are going so well....
Because corruption costs a lot.
Have you thanked the employer for helping you leave?
Check out Second City Cop this morning.
Lightfoot is talking about a paycut for police and fire, reportedly called police “useless”.
