Special Counsel Case Against Russian Company Takes A Page Out Of The Soviet Handbook
The Federalist ^ | JUNE 20, 2019 | Adam Mill

Posted on 06/20/2019 9:52:59 AM PDT by Jack Black

For nearly a year and a half, Special Counsel Robert Mueller piloted an audacious effort to protect Americans from “divisive” political speech from foreigners who might cause “discord” within the United States. If his successors are successful, the Department of Justice will gain the authority wielded by the Soviets and the Chinese to prevent politically unacceptable foreign ideas from reaching American eyes and ears.

A May 24, 2019 order in the “Russian interference” case United States v. Concord Management & Consulting exposes a particularly troubling flaw in the government’s effort to control, manage, and curate political ideas from abroad. The special counsel appears to have forgotten to explain how foreign political speech broke U.S. law.

According to the May 24 order, the government is required to demonstrate that Russia-based company Concord had a duty to play “Mother, may I?” with the DOJ and the Federal Elections Commission before posting political speech on the internet using assumed names. Without that, the entire criminal case falls apart.

As noted by Judge Dabney L. Freidrich, speech that might “sow discord among US voters through divisive social media posts and political rallies … by itself, was not illegal.” Truly, all political speech has the potential to be divisive or sow discord. The prosecution of any political criticism of Hillary Clinton without citing the specific laws supposedly being violated is troubling, to say the least.

Excellent article that points out the weakness at the heart of the Concord Consulting and Management case: Since when is it against the law for foreigners to put memes on Facebook that make fun of Bernie and Hillary?

Mueller used a lot of fancy phrase to disguise it, but at the heart of the case that is the issue.

As of May 17:

No trial date has been set yet in Concord’s case, which is being prosecuted in Washington by U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu.

Jessie Liu was being considered for the number 3 slot at the DOJ but withdrew after controversy over her handling of this and other political cases in DC, where she is the US Attorney.

No shit.

Just like “how do you define collusion?” was question number one.

Judge Freisler modeled his show trials after Andrei Vyshinsky, the chief prosecutor of the Soviet purge trials.

Freisler was a Bolshevik at one time, even Hitler would refer to him as, “That Old Bolshevik”.

The criminal Mueller indicted the Russian Concord group because he and his band of Dem operatives needed to feed the “Russia Collusion” narrative ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. The Dem media was only all to happy to comply.

Just one tiny problem. Mueller and his corrupt prosecutors never considered that Concord would not only show up in court, but demand a trial.

Now the fun begins. I hope this bastard goes the way of Mike Nifong.

I wonder what was the model for Mueller or did he come to it by himself?

The Big State never stops looking for ways to curtail liberty. Are we now so frail a people that we cannot tolerate foreign ideas and communication? Better keep out those ideas that sow discord especially things like liberty, natural rights, limited government, republicanism... But the ones that promote harmony we can let in like collectivism, environmentalism,

If Concord wins....and I believe they will, the others will follow. Every other country in the world talks about our politicians....good and bad. It doesn't change votes.

And then there's Obama....who actually went to the UK and told the people to vote against Brexit.....the biggest vote of their lifetime.

You're absolutely right. I think we can go back through every election since 1788 and find comparables.

I think Freisler got blasted into hell with a 500 pounder courtesy of the 8th AF one fine afternoon. Fixed him good. I hope Sophie Scholl laughed well.

And he was captured by the Russian army in WWI and soon after became a marxist. More proof that a nazi and communist are really more like bloods and crips than anything else.

Having seen the Sophie Scholl movie many times, I suspect she would have prayed for his soul.

And that bastard Freisler actually attended The Wannsee Conference, and yet he condemned the men who dared say that the Holocaust was happening.
