Michael Moore warns 2020 Democrats: Trump 'hasn't lost one inch of his fired-up insane base'

Michael Moore is warning Democrats about the "enormity of the fight" ahead of the 2020 election, saying the president "hasn't lost one inch of his fired-up insane base."

The filmmaker and liberal activist weighed in after watching Trump speak at his reelection campaign launch rally in Orlando on Tuesday night before a sold-out crowd of 20,000.

“I watched the whole thing last night,” Moore wrote to his more than 6 million followers on Twitter. “I know no one wants to waste that kind of time even looking at him [Trump], but not wanting to see the enormity of the fight ahead doesn’t make it go away. He hasn’t lost one inch of his fired-up insane base. Are u ready?”

Moore once predicted before the 2016 election that Trump would overcome long odds to defeat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who was widely favored in polls.

"Donald J. Trump is going to win in November. This wretched, ignorant, dangerous part-time clown and full time sociopath is going to be our next president," the filmmaker wrote on his website at the time.

"President Trump. Go ahead and say the words, ‘cause you’ll be saying them for the next four years: 'PRESIDENT TRUMP.'"

No presidential incumbent has lost reelection since George H.W. Bush in 1992, when Democrat Bill Clinton won comfortably in the electoral college, 370-168, despite only winning 43 percent of the popular vote. Bush finished with 38 percent of the vote, while independent Ross Perot took 19 percent of the vote.

Trump currently stands at 44.3 percent in the RealClearPolitics index of polls.

I laughed at her and said that is absurd, that really set her off on a full blown screaming rant...

2020 is going to be so much fun.../ S

Is he talking about the "insane base" that puts on masks and burns down downtowns?

No. The ones that go to work everyday and sacrifice for their children.

He was one of the few voices on the left, warning that Trump was going to win, and exactly why he was going to win.... but the powers that be on the left wouldn’t listen to him.

He and I have both lived in Flint, Michigan. Anyone who has ever lived there (or in Toledo, or any similar place) KNOWS exactly why Trump won.

It was because for thirty years the elites pursued globalism telling people in those places that this was their "new normal" and they had just better get used to it. That it was painful but trust us, in the long run a global economy would be better for all.

Meanwhile living conditions in your town just got worse, and worse, and worse.

In 2016 those voters ran out of patience and told them to stuff it. Anyone who spent time around Flint could have seen that coming.

It is almost impossible to lose as an incumbent President.

The only reason it happened in 92 was Ross Perot.

And that guy still hasn’t apologized for what he did.

While Democratic donors spread their money between 23 people right now. Trump gets most/all Republican donors $.

By the time the Democrats get down to one nominee, Trump will have a much bigger pool of money to play with.

That is why it is so much easier for an incumbent.

Hillary has still not answered why she NEVER went to Wisconsin.

Too many white people I suspect. But plenty of white Liberals. But she decided to ignore them.

I think at the base of that was some real deep personal grudge that Perot held against the Bush Family. From that viewpoint it was MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

I'm sure that watching Yeb! get destroyed brought a smile to his face as well.

You’d think that the massive backfire of the use of the term, “Deplorable” , the left would stop trying to insult us into submission.

in 2016, a candidate finally told them, NO YOU DON’T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS! I SEE IT, I UNDERSTAND IT, AND I AM GOING TO END IT!

And he’s delivered... in spades....

Anyone thinking Trump is beatable in 2020 (without a complete economic collapse, or some other unforeseen even of that type of magnitude) is a complete fool.

Go back to the buffet and STFU.

True. Wonder if he likes the Taco Bell nachos fries. Delicious but I have to stay off them to lose weight.

Shouldn’t Moore of all people be happy about Trump? Trump has talked about fair trade and manufacturing, things that Moore himself talked about in the 90s.

Yeah, Moore made his name with the movie Roger and Me, which was him complaining about GM leaving Flint and destroying the economy there. He can't acknowledge that Trump bringing manufacturing back is happening, because it was never about the manufacturing, it was about creating a narrative of bitching about big corporations.

Since Herbert Hoover lost to FDR in 1932 in the depths of the Great Depression, only three incumbent Presidents have been defeated for re-election: Ford in 1976 (narrowly--despite the anger over his pardon of Nixon), Carter in 1980 (for manifest incompetence), and Bush in 1992 (thanks to Perot and to breaking his "read my lips" promise).

Whoever the Democrat nominee is, it will have to be someone who supports reparations, open borders, late term abortions, and repealing the tax cuts. I think Trump will be able to use those issues to his advantage.

I would LOVE to see the dems lose like they did in 1972. McGovern only took one state, and it wasn’t even his own!
