Must We Wage War with Iran?

"The Pentagon has released new color photos as proof that Iran was behind last week's attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman," ABC News reported. Hours before that attack, Iranians launched surface-to-air missile at a U.S. drone monitoring the tankers. The missile missed. In response, 1,000 American troops are being dispatched to the region for the declared purpose of defending American forces already there.

Reacting to these charges and U.S. military moves and threats, Iran has said it will resume (did it ever stop?) the enrichment of uranium by next week, which it had pledged not to do for 10 years in an agreement forged during the Obama administration.

Two Israeli newspapers -- The Jerusalem Post and Maariv -- cite U.N. officials as saying the Trump administration is considering "tactical" bombing of an Iranian facility linked to its nuclear program. A Western diplomat is quoted: "The bombing will be massive but will be limited to a specific target."

What sort of response might be expected from Iran if this happens? Will the mullahs who run the country launch a strike against Israel as they have threatened? Various Iranian religious and political leaders have viewed themselves as the midwives of Armageddon, ushering in the return of the 12th Imam and the imposition of Islamic law on the world. Are they fanatical enough to turn their theology into action that could lead to the destruction of their regime?

Americans will be rightly dubious about another military engagement in the Middle East, especially after officials in this and other countries claimed there was irrefutable evidence that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, which were never found.

Iran declared war on America decades ago, when the Shaw was deposed. But they are smart enough not to directly attack us. So they use surrogates which they finance. People wake up time for America to fight back! Show them real terror! Nukes are nice, especially neutron bombs!

The U.S. government helped topple the elected Iranian government on behalf of British Petroleum in the 1950s. It is delusion — or deliberately misleading propaganda — to suggest our troubles with Iran began in 1979.

We wouldn’t be involved in these stupid endless military campaigns if we left other people alone around the world.

Most of the youth in Iran want a more westernized lifestyle.

if they had guns they would have already overthrown their religious leaders.

Answer: Yes
They will one day get nuclear weapons and use them.
The democrats will help them.

Kill them now and put the fear of God into the rest of the muslims.

$23 trillion in debt and already SEVEN simultaneous wars.

Every night one town picks up and moves across our southern border, never intending to return.

Ultimately? Yes. But not openly. And even a quiet, covert, little war is fraught with peril.

But not a perilous as as failure to respond to and finish off a one-sided war.

The US government toppled a hard left govt in the 1950 - in our own self interest.

“on behalf of BP” - what a joke.

If we had not hung the shah out his family would still be in power and the world would be a FAR better place.

Iran is about the only country in the world I would fully support attacking. They are Shia. They believe the mhadi will appear when the world is in chaos.

They are working hard to build nukes. When they get enough, they intend to use them. Tel Aviv, New York, DC. Poof. They fully intend to use them.

They must not be allowed to nuke the world.

That said, I agree that there are better options to toppling the current regime than war.

Too bad the Church commission and then Clintoon and then Obunghole completely destroyed the CIA.

That is true, but they have progressed to the point with their weaponry that they have the capability to threaten us with severe damage. On top of that, regardless of our activities now, we are used by their regime as the "Great Satan" to focus the ire of their dissatisfied populace on US instead of the corrupt regime itself. They will keep taking pot shots at us, but we never know what will trigger a really BIG strike.

I think the strategy is to keep pressure on the regime hoping that the citizens will topple it. If it survives, we will eventually have to confront them for our own safety. Safer to do that soon instead of after they fully develop nuclear capability. Given the eschatological views of their religion, not much holds them back from attacking us with a nuke.

So now we have communists infiltrating our own government in the 2000s.

God sure has an interesting sense of humor, doesn't he?

So much Communist/KBG/FSB Globalist Russian backed Putin backed b.s disinformation propaganda in your post its unreal.
You commie Paleo, traitors to this country have been spreading outright disinformation on post World II Iran since the beginning of the first Cold War.
As have the Libertarians and the Libertarian movement its always been the goal you all to spread these lies under the guise of freedom, liberty to weaken the United States, Geo-Politicall/militarily in order to forward Communist Russia as the leading power.
But your overall goal is to destroy the Jewish Nation of Israel, and forever rid of the Jewish remnant especially Zionist and messianics.

We must fight and destroy the Islamic regime of Iran who are proxies of Neo Soviet Russia and Communist Red China.
For over thirty years they have been allowed to wage acts of terrorism stealth War, harassment of international shipping on international waters a blatant violation of the rule of law. Since the 2000’s they have been actively trying to pursue nuclear and other WMds, with the help of Russia, China, and North Korea.
Nothing but other than useless of sanctions has been done about it the Trump Administration must a take stand fight back and fight back hard.

I don't know how Israel has anything to do with my post ... but if it makes you feel better to post your delusional rant based on something I didn't even say, then have at it.

In the meantime ... I can't speak for you, but I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 because I wanted the days of draft dodging globalists sending other people to fight wars in sh!t-holes all over the world to come to an end in this country.

"Please clap."
