There was a lynching here( coastal Oregon) in the ‘30s. A black man and white woman were seen coming out of the woods on a local road. People talked, she claimed rape, and over a bridge he went, with a rope around his neck.
My father in law met my mother in law in Nashville when he and his fellow sailor pals in WWII on leave before shipping out saved her from two black men who were assaulting her near Centennial Park
She was 17 and worked wartime in 1943 at Southern Bell
It was winter and she was walking back to the bus station where rural bus operators took her back to Gladeville southeast of Nashville on the far shore of Percy Priest lake
Two black males grabbed her and dragged her into the park from West End ave and tore her girdle and panties off and one held her down while the other attempted to enter her and he also was trying to sodomize her without too much detail
