Trump caused partisanship because he committed the sin of winning.

GWB committed the same sin by defeating Al Gore.

Gore, too, refused to accept the results of the election, first by cherry-picking blue districts in Florida for recount, and then hiring David Boies to challenge the results in Florida state courts.

As punishment, Bush was subjected to his version of the Mueller Report, the Texas Air National Guard memo falsified by allies of Dan Rather, and timed to be released in coordination with John Kerry's "Operation: Fortunate Son" campaign in 2004.

The big difference between Bush and Trump is that Trump is a total outsider. The Presidency is his first elective office. He isn’t controlled by special interests, but Bush was.

True, but even with Bush they were all saying that the Governor of Texas is a weak office, implying that even though Bush held statewide office it shouldn't count because it wasn't a "real" governorship.

Trump has been treated far worse than Bush. Trump was spied on from his campaign thru ten months into his Presidency. He had a Special Counsel investigating him for almost two years. The Dems have been threatening impeachment since the day Trump was elected. The MSM have become the most biased against a President since Nixon

By comparison, Bush was treated with kid gloves and Bush reciprocated by signing McCain-Feingold and supporting amnesty.

Yes, Trump is getting it worse, but also remember that Senate Democrats were slow-walking all of Bush's Department under-secretary nominations, just like they did with Trump.

It took 9/11 to get Democrats to finally give Bush the rest of his administration.

I'm just saying that Democrats are repeating a pattern when they believe an election was taken from them.

Did you notice that Democrats said similar things when Kerry lost because exit polls suggested he was winning? They wanted to claim that the voting was rigged because it didn't match with early exit polls.

People later said that early exit polls don't include people who vote after work, that is, people with jobs, that is, Republicans.

IMO the Dems thought they had the election wired in states like PA and MI and couldn’t believe that Trump beat them. Using projection, they believe Trump won using fraud, i.e., they were out cheated.

It reminds me of the Tea Party, which I was heavily involved in. The Dems could not believe this was a grassroots movement because they are only familiar with rent a mob and astroturfing.

The three sins of Donald Trump -
He denied 'rats what they crave more than normal people crave oxygen - power -
He doesn't run away and hide in the corner when attacked the way a Republican is supposed to do, but fights back always -
He challenges their favorite causes with reason and wit and without compromise......

Democrats call that partisanship......

It’s always Democrats that refuse to work with Republicans.

Even on issues they would have supported. Remember their opposition, as the party of the American workers, to those free trade deals that shipped jobs out of the country. Now that President Trump is renegotiating those deals to give Americans a fair break, they are siding with the free traders.

They say they’re for the American worker by constantly wanting to raise minimum wage and enforce discrimination laws. But then they just give away American jobs to foreign workers or illegal aliens. Nobody is the wiser, however, because the news media says nothing about it, and liberals don’t mind being lied to, as long as it’s their side doing the lying.

Does the article ever get around to mentioning Bush like the title says?

WSJ articles are paywalled. So if you post one, you might write a sentence or two to explain just what the writer is saying.

If I were going to guess what his point was, I'd guess that he's saying Bush was divisive, too.

And sure, every president is divisive.

At least since Eisenhower and Kennedy (with Kennedy benefiting from Ike's popularity and the public's respect for him).
