BERLIN - Germans have voiced shock at the suspected far-right murder of a pro-migrant official, fueling debate on Tuesday on whether the country has failed to take seriously a rising threat from neo-Nazis.
Prosecutors on Monday said they suspected an extremist motive in the assassination-style shooting of Kassel city administration chief Walter Luebcke, 65, on June 2.
A suspect identified as Stephan E., 45, is in custody, with prosecutors saying he has multiple links to the far-right scene.

The political landscape in certain European countries is frought with many snares. It can be hard for well-meaning conservatives to find the right team as it were...as so many come with horrendous baggage.
The arrest of a right-winger over the shooting two weeks ago of Walter Luebcke, a regional ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel known for his pro-migrant views, shocked Germany and prompted calls for a more pro-active government response to anti-immigrant extremists.
I am not surprised at this. I think Germany took in about a million migrants in the last few years. For those who are finding I g hard to make their way in the country of their birth this is a slap in the face. Then to be told they are bigots, racists and all other sorts of evil for disagreeing with it is gunna push people, who may already be on the edge, a step too far.
And the German people said, “Do you hear us now!”
Can they put the words “far right” and “extremist” in the article some more?
I doubt there’s a person here who can’t sympathize with the killer’s motive.
This man is about the correct age to have teenage or young adult daughters.
It would make for interesting press if he had a teenage daughter raped by immigrant male adherent of a religion of peace.
I don’t condone murder.
But Nazis were left wing.
CC
> I dont condone murder.
The line between murder and self-defense is pretty blurry in these cases.
Where exactly is that line when dealing with people who are working a long term plan that amounts to genocide?
Would a Jew in 1944 Germany who killed a Nazi minister be a murderer? Perhaps in the most technical sense, but stripping the context doesn’t exactly clarify the moral questions.
What is blurry is your rationalization.
Who gave a trial and conviction, of a plan to genocide?
Merkel said herself she acted on a international humanitarian crisis.
And she has since been reelected.
A Jew killing a Nazi in 1944 during the holocaust is not comparable with a Neo-Nazi murdering a politician in 2019.
> Who gave a trial and conviction, of a plan to genocide?
Well, that’s the thing about war, there are no trials and no convictions.
In analyzing the situation, the reality of war being waged by these international Communists upon the various native populations of Europe really should be acknowledged front and center.
At what point is it OK to wage war back?
At what point is it morally necessary to do so?
How on earth does the killing of a politician rise to genocide?
Oh... my apologies. You live in Germany, don’t you?
I shouldn’t really ask you to tackle any of the fundamental moral and philosophical issues at the heart of the conflict of civilizations - I know better than to ask you to do something that’s illegal in your country, like having a frank discussion of this topic.
Then again, perhaps that’s part of the reason why peaceful redress of grievance was not pursued in this case - because it was not available. Had he spoken his mind with words, he would be subject to arrest and imprisonment in a jail full of Muslims, correct?
The only war is in your head.
There was an international humanitarian crisis.
But even in war there are rules against war crimes.
ergo: trials and convictions.
Anything else you havn’t a clue about that I need to spend minutes correcting?
There is a anti-immigrant party called the AfD.
Tell them about your invented bullcrap.
On earth, I did not post that.
Markell created an international humanitarian crisis by allowing her country to be invaded by cut throats and other low IQ leeches.
MarkellOK?
