Target, Walmart among 600 companies asking President Trump to end trade war with China
CBSnews / Youtube ^ | 9 hours ago

Walmart and Target are the problem.

EVERYTHING sold in Walmart (except most groceries) is from China.

Don't know about Target, but I presume they are exactly the same.

I know, not (everything). But close enough.

President Trump, please do something.

For real.

We really, really need to completely change directions on trade with China.

For 30 years (everyone) has been entirely sold out.

Everyone.

This issue, is the reason I decided to support you, very early. Before you even announced.

Do something.

Please.

well Target, just because you’re one crappy store with cheap products from Asia and because you don’t care if little girls get traumatized by having men in their bathrooms, I would love for you to just FAIL.....if you can’t make it on American made goods, then you can just go to hell....

Sam Walton is spinning in his grave over what his company has become. He would have supported President Trump 100%.

I started shopping at Walmart back in the day when they advertised 100% made in America. Sam Walton tried to source everything from "Made in USA" American suppliers. Sam Walton was a true patriot.

“(except most groceries)”

Wouldn’t be so sure about their produce.

A lot of Wal~Mart’s hunting and fishing equipment is made in the US. A lot of it is made in third countries, not China. Maybe look at the domestic issues that drove manufacturing OUT of the US, rather than bitch that it ended up somewhere with cheap labor and nonexistent environmental regulations.

Walmart and Target were plenty OK with a 30-year-plus Trade War against US citizens and US businesses -- as were the politicians of the communist Democrats and the communist RINOs.

"Globalism" is simply communism writ large.

I wonder if President Trump, actually realizes how bad it is. I doubt he actually goes shopping, personally.

Try it, Mr. President. Go into a Walmart. Any Walmart, in America. Check it out.

Clothes and groceries seem to be sourced elsewhere. Clothes from many places. Groceries, primarily from America. But everything else in the entire place. Aisle, after aisle, after aisle, is all made in China.

(I know not literally EVERYthing. But close enough.)

Bring back jobs, and industry, to America.

You ran on this issue.

You will win again, on this issue.

For real.

China can end the trade war any time they want. They want free access to dump their government subsidized products in our markets and put our manufacturers out of business, and they tax the **** out of our products we try to sell there.

Fix that unbalance, and the trade war will be over.

In a true market, when that shelf is empty....you will fill it. In this case, no one is stopping Chinese products from entering. They are simply saying that as you import the item, you will pay more for it, and the price on the shelf will reflect that. Either the customer will that price (sending tax revenue from the import to the US government), or they will seek a cheaper-made product (maybe from the US, Mexico, Brazil, or even India).

I don’t see the issue here. Maybe China told Wal-Mart and Target some woeful tale, but no one has stopped their products. It’ll be at the shelf where people decide....is that a reasonable price or not.

Things at Wal Mart probably began to change with this person being on it's board of directors.

Trump is NOT doing anything yet.

I support the guy. I voted for the guy. I flew back to America to do so.

Mine, was one of the 10,000 votes Trump won the state of Michigan by.

I get that he is (very) pro-American.

Trump is terrific. But our trade deficit with China last year, was the absolute WORST IN WORLD HISTORY.

Worst ever.

Trump, it is time.

Stand up to China.

For real.

My garage is full of things I’ve collected over the years. Tools, nails, screws. All kinds of miscellaneous stuff. I have a rule. If I can’t find it in my garage,I don’t need it. I’m not going to go to some big store and rub elbows with people I don’t like and buy some crap that I really don’t need and help finance turd world countries that want our demise.

Imagine being one of the thousands of absolute morons that waited in Target’s all over the country, for hours they say, because its registers went down. People actually waited in the stores instead of just dropping their sh*t and going to Walmart. I can’t imagine toilet paper, makeup and toothpaste being so important that it has to be purchased at Target and nowhere else. And these people vote.

Didn’t they have a pretty significant data breach a few years ago?

Am I the only one that thinks your comment makes no sense?

You seem to be challenging the President, for not feeling the pain, in the first half of your comment and then supporting him in the second.

Total BS to say everything at Walmart is from China.

I’ve shopped at WM since the ‘70s and have bought many things from Europe, SE Asia, Japan, Mexico and South American countries. ...I been trying to recall anything I purchased there from China, but draw a blank.
