Andrew McCabe: Not Illegal For Americans To Contract Out Opposition Research To Foreign Individuals
https://www.realclearpolitics.com ^ | June 14, 2019 | Ian Schwartz

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said the impeachment of President Donald Trump is "absolutely" warranted in an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo on Thursday. McCabe denounced Trump, saying there is a difference between taking information acquired "illegally" from "representatives" of a hostile foreign government while defending Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, as CNN's Chris Cuomo put it, "paying Russians for information to amass a dossier."

"Does the argument that, yes, OK, you shouldn't have Russians giving you anything and you shouldn't have been paying Russians for information to amass a dossier the way Clinton did -- do you see these as analogs?" Cuomo asked McCabe.

"Not at all, Chris. There's no equivalence between those two examples," McCabe responded. "To openly invite foreign intelligence officers, representatives from a hostile foreign government to steal information, to acquire opposition research in anyway, in any illegal way that they might do that and to present it to you is one thing."

Sure. After all gossip might not be reliable.

“For a campaign to hire a law firm, an American law firm who then turns around and hires an American research company that then contracts out with a foreign individual, that is not illegal,”

Actually, it is illegal. They were all aware of the arrangement. Therfor it is criminal conspiracy.

Liar McCabe is doing mental gymnastics trying to prove this hogwash.

I cannot watch CNN. It’s a waste of eyesight.

Cuomo is the biggest fraud, he and his brother.

It is a straw man argument since Trump did neither. He was only responding to a hypothetical question from Smurfphanopoulos.

If PDJT has goods on these commies I wish he’d use it and stop saving it up...if he doesn’t and they have all the cards, then that sucks.

“Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said the impeachment of President Donald Trump is “absolutely” warranted ....”

This guy sounds pretty nervous. I’d bet just a few turns of the screw and he’ll be singing like a canary.

Here’s a thought:

DOESN’T IT HAVE TO BE VERIFIED...YES, VERIFIED before anyone can do anything.

McCabe forgot about that part.

If this is so then Trump should advertise in foreign media to pay for dirt on his political opponents.

Yep - he’s in fear mode because Trump trolled them and got them up in arms over his words about the possibility of listening .... after they went in neck deep with actual actions....when the fear freezes the mind, the insane seems like a rational out for the guilty...like the old “Yes yer Honor, my clients did kill their parents and burn their house down, but they should be forgiven because they’re homeless orphans” defense.

McCabe is transmogrifying Trump's campaign joke "Hey Russia, maybe you can help Hillary find her emails" into an illegal offer. It's ludicrous, but this is what passes for reasoned and righteous accusation among the commentariet and FBI.

Be careful what you say ;-) Our disgrace of a federal government doesn't take kindly to ridicule.

Democrats don't have a problem getting dirt from foreign sources AND they don't have a problem getting dirt out to the public.

Why? Here's how it's done.

Thugs in intelligence (working on the taxpayers dime) 'discover' dirt on Republicans then hand it over (leak it) to their boys in the press.

Then the boys in the press 'owe them' and they write beautiful things about democrats and never look into democrats scandals. ('Cause IF they do they get cut off)

It's a sweet little system. The old KGN would be jealous.

So of course democrats want a law to stop Republicans from even HEARING dirt on democrats... Intelligence thugs work for democrats, the press works for democrats, the global 'elites' work for democrats... (MORE money for 'elites'... MORE power for greedy 'elites') 'Elites' that smell of white trash - but that's another story....
