President Trump Outwits Chairman Xi Jinping Ahead of G20 Summit…
Consertive Treehouse ^ | June 15,2019 | Sundance

Posted on 06/15/2019 3:36:26 PM PDT by Hojczyk

President Trump is now playing with Chairman Xi like a mouse in a maze.

Trump wants to go to the full confrontation position. Donald J Trump has been talking about this for thirty years. Additionally, for the past two years he has strategically laid the groundwork and aligned the allies needed for this final confrontation. President Trump is looking for an excuse to apply the scale of tariffs on China that will crush their U.S. export business – and – force them into massive state subsidies to retain their manufacturing model such that they will have to retract from preexisting global financial obligations.

President Trump has threatened more tariffs and more consequential action as it relates to non-tariff barriers, IP protection, forced technology transfers etc. As a result of China reneging on the prior agreement, Trump has put Chairman Xi under threat. Beijing’s traditional and cultural position would be no-meeting or discussions while under threats.

However, as a baseline disposition President Trump doesn’t want Xi Jinping to meet with him. That ‘slight’ is the opening Trump can exploit to crush his adversary. So what does President Trump do… while the threat and punishment looms, he levels massive amounts of praise upon Chariman Xi making the pressure almost unbearable.

Chairman Xi cannot meet with President Trump or that reverses the dismissive position previously outlined by Beijing when they rebuked the earlier agreement. However, if Xi refuses the G20 meeting he will be allowing President Trump to collapse his economy.

Worse still, Beijing cannot fall-back on shooting missiles from their proxy province of North Korea to attain leverage and negotiating position… because President Trump has already blunted their historic approach by meeting with Chairman Kim Jong Un.

Oh, the G20 is going to be epic.

I wish us luck as the President is playing this down to the wire having had Democrats, and Never-Trumper RINO’s screwing with him since the beginning of his administration.

If he doesn’t win this one in time the Romney, Rino’s, and Democrats very well could walk right in, sit right down, roll up their sleeves, and end a beautiful thing.

There lies the weakness for the Chinese. There are many Asian and might I say South/Central American countries that would gladly take up the slack if China would be cut out of our trade. There would be a short time of economic adjustment but we (America) would be much better off in the long run. As for agricultural exports, the need to feed is still there and we are are the best equipped to fill it. China might not be buying grain from us directly but would still need it even if through a 3rd party.

We have been served poorly by greedy companies like Apple ever since Nixon opened up the China markets. Now is time to right the ship.

"The stock market might crash.....most of the rich trading companies are never Trumpers."

That would make sense from their perspective because it would dry up liquid capital making it impossible for companies to replace plant and equipment in China with new plants and equipment here in the US or even in SE Asia.

That end game scenario has been their plan since the 1930s as several of the "great thinkers" leftists celebrate were even then saying the US and Russia had to be reduced to a system of nobility and serfs with China becoming the "workshop of the world"

Some people plan and execute over the long term and then there are "Conservatives", who haven't even managed to "Conserve" the sanctity of marriage, the sanctity of an infants' life, and the legal fact that there are only two sexes as even DNA dictates.

Whether Xi attends the G20 or not is irrelevant in the long run. Trump and his advisers must understand that China under the Communist Party will never honor any trade agreement that prevents them from attaining their goal of replacing the US as the ruling world economy. The objective of the tariffs must be to drive manufactures out of China and into countries like Korea, Japan, and especially Vietnam that surround them as they grow more powerful. This encirclement is the greatest historical fear of China and would weaken the position of the hard line hawks in China and strengthen more moderate thinkers that understand reciprocity is superior to zero-sum dominance.

". . . drive manufactures out of China and into countries like Korea, Japan, and especially Vietnam that surround them . . ."

No, it's to drive them back to the US where we as a nation aren't dependent on any other government and political system for critical good, basic materials like steel and aluminum, or even most consumer goods.

Thinking that Communist Vietnam is any more likely to play according to the rules once there's huge US investments there than China has is nothing but another fantasy.

A fantasy like how much more democratic China would be after trade grew. How'd that work out with President for life Li now in charge and reneging on the agreement about Hong Kong?

I would bet that the Vietnamese are already printing their business proposals.

Good. China is torturing and slaughtering tens of thousands of stolen pet dogs for Yulin.

Good post.

I have lived in China (back when they were opening to the west).. and live now in Vietnam.

There is a WORLD of difference. Huge.

China even then was vaguely threatening. Vietnam is extraordinarily not. It is hugely different.

Night and day.

And in Vietnam, they also don’t really trust China, either.

Vietnam is NOT like China.

At all.

Ah. China cut out of our trade would finally rid us of women’s pants made of inner tube like fabric and shirts of thin, clingy rayon. Ah. Trump our hero

Never underestimate China. They are fascists, and do not care if their citizens or economy get harmed.

Trump is doing to China what Reagan did to Russia. After their economy implodes no more military expansion.
