The bomb exploded shortly after 9 a.m. Friday in a blast that ripped through two apartment buildings and could be heard for miles. Twenty-five people suffered cuts and bruises and 250 apartments were damaged. A nearby kindergarten was evacuated. Hospitals jumped into disaster mode. Photos from the scene show rows of demolished balconies and shattered windows. It was absolutely incredible that no one was severely injured, a police spokesperson said.
It is the kind of news we usually associate with war zones, but this bombing took place in Linköping, a peaceful university town in southern Sweden. Remarkably, it was not the only explosion in the country that day; another, seemingly unrelated, blast was reported in a parking lot in the city of Gothenburg earlier in the morning. Three explosions have been reported in Malmö since Tuesday morning. As of this writing, no arrests have been made.
Sweden has experienced a sharp rise in explosions in recent years, predominantly related to conflicts between warring criminal gangs. The use of explosives in the Nordic country is now at a level that is unique in the world for a state not at war, according to police. In response, the government issued a first-ever amnesty for explosives in the fall of 2018, allowing people in possession of such weapons to hand them over to police with immunity. But this didnt stem the tide: some 50 explosions were reported in the first three months of 2019 alonean average of more than one every other day and an increase over the same period in 2018, a year that saw a record number of more than three blasts per week. According to the prevailing ideology of the Swedish political establishment, this wave of violence, which is baffling to many European neighbours, should not be happening. A longstanding cornerstone of the countrys political conversation dictates that crime must be understood in socio-economic terms, and that welfare provisions are a cure-all against violence and social unrest. Yet Sweden is one of Europes most generous welfare states.
My guess is if they did turn any in, it was just after they pulled the pin.
It’s been my understanding that Norway does not like Sweden. One of the reasons is that Sweden refused to join WW2 and Norway had to bear the brunt of the German invasions.
Sweden didn’t have much choice re joining WW2 on the Allied side. The Germans were ready to invade in force and Sweden didn’t have much of an Army, etc.
Sweden did play both sides just as Switzerland did but geographically, Sweden had a better geographical and military disadvantage re the Germans than did the Swiss.
I had friends who were either turned back at the Swiss border and denied asylum, or were accepted and “interned” as a way to keep them alive.
After doing a little more research, I've found out that these "explosives" are usually handgranades.
Doesn't Sweden require handgranade owners to register their handgranades? Or does that apply only to "assault" handgranades?
Regards,

It is a war zone.
All countries that let in illegal aliens will be the equivilant of many Beriuts in 10 years. Throughout each nation.
Fools.
The Scandinavians will never rise up.
Watch the show Occupied.
They are not able to rise up.
Politicians, no matter their party or where they are from CANNOT admit when they are wrong.
The day is coming when the people have to rise up, armed and get rid of these people. Pure and simple. If they want to run to Brussels, London, or Paris for their safety, go ahead. Go there and starve as the people will not help you. It is getting to that point.
No more so than in the US.
But they won’t because that would be racist. Leftists really do make life horrible for everyone else.

Maybe it’s the toxic masculinity?
Sorry, didn’t know.
No problem.
Sweden used to be a peaceful, well to do, homogeneous, low crime, idyllic country where people would drink themselves to death to relieve their boredom. Nothing ever happened in Sweden.
They watched American movies with all the exciting diversity and enriching multiculturalism and ensuing mayhem, gangs, chase scenes, riots, things blowing up, and they were envious of all that diverse activity, and they wanted a piece of that exciting life.
So they imported diversity and it’s curing them of their boring life. Soon we’ll be able to enjoy such thrilling shows as “The Streets Of Malmo”.
Diversity is a word to close to divide and division for me. - Tom
Don’t the Democrats advocate that the US become more like Sweden?

I think I found the problem.
As if someone just happened to find a batch of explosives, say, in his garage, decided he didnt actually want explosives laying around, so he turned them in.
My family came from Goteborg, but these people shame my family.
