Concur entirely. I am extremely angry that a group of unelected gray bureaucrats at the FBI, CIA, Justice and State Departments huddled in secret to alter the results of the presidential election and condescend toward the American middle classes. I remember one good thing Tillerson did as Secretary of State - some group of senior bureaucrat Foreign Service Officers met once a week at the State Department to determine US foreign policy in key areas. They had never been appointed to do this, had no formal portfolio or responsibilities, and just decided they were the ones to do this on taxypayer time and the taxpayer dime. Tillerson found out about it and shut the whole thing down, to the wails of their media allies and the Establishment over how he was “wasting” their supposed expertise. All such shadow groups in the federal government need to be sent packing.
Not really. He forgot offshoring of IT stuff and H1Bs, and the wholesale takeover of tech by India.
One, illegal immigration and open borders have led to chaos.
Two, globalization enriched the cosmopolitan elites
Three, unelected bureaucrats multiplied and vastly increased their power over private citizens.
Four, the new global media reached billions and indoctrinated rather than reported.
Five, academia became politicized as a shrill agent of cultural transformation rather than focusing on education
elites never suffered the firsthand consequences of their own ideological fiats.
Victor Davis Hanson is becoming a national treasure... up there with Greenfield and Sowell... We are blessed.
