Sorry, I haven't (yet) looked into the obviously seriously flawed process that allowed Brennan into the CIA in the first place back in 1980. But below is a link to his confirmation hearing, where once again it was a "no problem" issue. The world is really nuts.

But the traditional Dems still don’t like what they did with MLK. Real civil libertarians on the left and constitutionalists on the right that support individual rights could form a bulwark against these abuses. Look you have those on the left that oppose war on drugs, high imprisonment rates, and want abortion. On the right we want less regulation, 2A, family values.
The problem is centralization and Federal control. Leftists and conservatives could live happily ever after if they united against federal control and opted for state and local control. We could have 50 different approaches that are suited to each state’s citizenry.
Policing of US citizens should be a power to the left to the States. Federal policing should focus on foreigners, borders, customs.

Looks like it is time to re-evaluate both NATO and the "five eyes" intelligence sharing.
If I had anything to say about it, firing intelligence directors would only be the opening course. Lengthy stays at Guantanamo, would be a second round. Minimum of two decades each.
